Durante quest'estate... *** During this summer...

... Sono successe tante cose (come avevo già detto). Così attraverso queste foto racconterò alcune di queste cose. Le foto non sono in ordine cronologico, perciò spero che non crei troppa confusione. Come al solito non sarà un post molto corto, ma ormai è normale che non lo sia! =)


... Many things happened during the summer (as I already said). So, through these pictures I'd like to talk a little of some of these things. Pictures are not in a chronological order, I hope it's not too confusing. As usual this won't be a very short post, but that's normal! =)

Quest'estate c'è stato il battesimo di Desireè e Vanessa. Tutto è iniziato a giugno quando i missionari (anziano Deppe e Brawdy) ci hanno chiesto (Xavier e me) di andare con loro da una famiglia a cui avevano appena iniziato ad insegnare. Era un lunedì, così abbiamo fatto una serata familiare insieme. Poi siamo andati anche il lunedì dopo e altre volte e loro hanno iniziato a venire in chiesa dalle 9:00, vestiti bene e tutto, sembravano membri della Chiesa!! Sono in cinque: Gertrude è la mamma che ha 4 figli: Desireè di 14 anni, Vanessa di 9, Junior di quasi 2 e Giada di 5-6 mesi. Io ero contenta anche perchè Desireè è una giovane donna, poi conoscendola meglio al campeggio delle giovani donne ho potuto apprezzarla e conoscerla meglio. E' una ragazza dolce e le voglio tanto bene! Sono stata davvero contenta che abbia deciso di battezzarsi. Prima del campeggio era quella meno interessata, ma al campeggio ho potuto vedere un cambiamento in lei, ed è stato bellissimo. Infatti solo una settimana dopo si è battezzata, ancora prima di sua mamma! Al battesimo sono venute anche le giovani donne di Rimini, qualche giovane uomo e naturalmente Sabrina, la mia consigliera. Ci siamo molto affezionate a Desireè. E' davvero incredibile come il vangelo di Gesù Cristo cambi le persone e le renda ancora migliori. Questo rafforza la mia testimonianza della verità di questo Vangelo e di questa Chiesa.


This summer there were Desireè and Vanessa's baptisms. It all started in June when the missionaries (Anziano Deppe and Browdy) asked us (Xavier and me) to go with them to visit a family they just began to teach to. It was on a Monday, so we had a family home evening together. Then we went even on the next Monday and other times too; they started to come to church at 9:00, well dressed and everything, they seemed to be already members of the Church! They are five: Gertrude is the mother who has 4 children: Desireè 14 years old, Vanessa 9 years old, Junior almost 2 and Giada 5-6 months old. I was happy also because Desireèis a young woman, I got the chance to know her better at girls camp and appreciate her even more. She's a sweet girl and I love you her much! I was so happy she decided to be baptized. Before camp she was the least interested in her family, but at girls camp I could see a change in her, and it was amazing. In fact, only a week after it she got baptized, even before her mom! The young women from Rimini some young men, and of course Sabrina, my counselor came at the baptism.. Sabrina and I love Desireè a lot. It's really amazing how the gospel of Jesus Christ changes people and make them even better. This experience strengthened my testimony of the truth of the Gospel and of the Church.

Matrimonio di Joseph e Krista: lui viene dalla Nigeria e fa parte del mio Ramo (Forlì) e lei invece è Canadese. Sembrano così opposti ma sono tanto carini!! Lei è venuta per circa un mese, nel quale sabato 19 settembre si è sposata, hanno poi fatto il suggellamento al tempio Svizzero e poi lei è tornata in Canada in attesa che lui abbia i documenti necessari per raggiungerla. Quanta pazienza!!! Il matrimonio è stato molto semplice; io ho prima tradotto l'atto di matrimonio, ho fatto da interprete per Krista (non parla italiano ed è stato mio babbo a sposarli) durante la cerimonia e poi ero anche la testimone di lei. Purtroppo nessuno della famiglia di lei è venuto... Era la prima volta che facevo da testimone! Gli sposi si sono fatti attendere un bel po', peggio del mio matrimonio =p Ma i membri di Forlì (i pochi ma buoni) hanno contribuito molto per la riuscita del matrimonio, almeno loro sembravano proprio felici!!! Congratulazioni Joseph e Krista!!!!! Siete proprio una bella coppia e vi voglio bene!!!!!!!!!!

Joseph & Krista's wedding: he is from Nigeria and he belongs to my Branch (Forlì); instead she is Canadian. They seem so differentbut they are sooo cute! She came here for about a month, and they got married on Saturday, September 19th, later they got sealed in the Swiss Temple and then she went back to Canada waiting for him to have all documents needed to go there as well. That's hard! The wedding was very simple; I first translated their marriage certificate into English, I interpreted for Krista (she doesn't speak Italian and my dad celebrated the marriage) during the ceremony and I was also her witness. Unfortunately none of her family came ... It was the first time fot me to be a witness in a wedding! They made us wait a little while before their arrival, worse than my wedding =p But Forlì members (the few but good) helped a lot for the success of the wedding, at least they (Joseph & Krista) seemed so happy! Congratulations Joseph and Krista!!!!! You are a great couple and I love you!!!!!!!!!!

Conferenza del Distretto di Rimini: sabato 26 e domenica 27 settembre c'è stata la conferenza del nostro distretto. E' stata una conferenza ancora più speciale: abbiamo avuto il privilegio di avere l'anziano Patrick Kearon,Settanta di Area. Ariele l'aveva conosciuto durante la missione e ha tradotto durante la sessione del sacerdozio del sabato, a me è stato chiesto di interpretare durante la sessione generale del sabato. Dire che ero agitata è dire poco... Ma l'anziano mi ha subito tranquillizzata e con il suo modo di fare calmo, gentile e socievole, mi ha calmata molto. Nella prima parte dovevo interpretare per lui, quindi dall'italiano all'inglese (secondo me la parte più difficile) e poi durante il suo discorso il contrario. Per interpretare per lui in inglese, io avevo un piccolo microfono e lui usando delle cuffie sentiva la mia traduzione. Devo dire che Ariele mi ha aiutato molto, trovandomi le Scritture o a volte suggerendomi delle parole, e oltre al suo aiuto ho sentito anche quello dello Signore. Alla fine mi dispiaceva aver già finito! E mi sarebbe piaciuto fare anche la domenica, ma per il giorno dopo è venuta una sorella da Modena che a mia volta ho aiutato molto durante l'interpretazione dall'italiano all'inglese. Dopo tanto tempo ho cantato di nuovo nel coro (avevo partecipato alle prove) e c'è stato anche il coro dei missionari ritornati del distretto. Xavier è riuscito ad avere la domenica libera così ha cantanto anche lui. Abbiamo tutti indossato la nostra targhetta: è stato bellissimo sia indossare di nuovo la targhetta (che poi non mi sarei più tolta) sia vedere tutti gli altri ex missionari di ogni età; sembravamo proprio come "un'armata" forti e coraggiosi, non a caso abbiamo cantato: "Noi gioventù di Sion"!

Ero talmente presa dall'interpretare, sia il sabato che la domenica, che non ricordo esattamente ciò che è stato detto, solo una cosa mi è rimasta impressa: "siate felici". Ma quello che non posso dimenticare è la gran pace e serenità provata ascoltando i dirigenti del Distretto, della missione e del Settanta di Area. Sono grata di poter far parte di questa Chiesa e di sapere che il Signore la sta guidando tramite uomini scelti direttamente da Lui.

Rimini District Conference: On Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of September we had our district conference. It was even more special because we had the privilege of having elder Patrick Kearon, Area Seventy. Ariele met him before, during his mission in England; Ariele translated the priesthood session on Saturday, and I was asked to interpret for the general session on Saturday. Saying I was nervous it's not enough... But elder Kearon reassured me and with his calm, gentle and encouraging manner, he calmed me down a lot. In the first part of the session I had to interpret to him, from Italian into English (in my opinion this was the hardest part) and then during his talk I had to do the opposite. To interpret to him into English, I used a small microphone and he had headphone which allowed him to listen to my translation. I must say that Ariele helped me a lot, finding Scriptures or sometimes suggesting me some words, and in addition to his help I also felt the Lord's. Finally I was sad it was already over! And I would have loved to interpret for the Sunday morning session, but for that one came a sister from Modena, and I helped her a lot in interpreting into English.

After a long time I sang in the district choir again (I also went to practice); there was also the returned district missionaries choir. Xavier was able to have that Sunday off so he sang in the choir too. We all wore our nametags: it was great to wear it again (I didn't want to take it off anymore) and to see all the other former missionaries of every age; we were like an "army" strong and courageous, not by chance we sang, "As Zion's Youth in these Latter Days"!
I was so busy with the interpretation, both on Saturday and on Sunday, I can not remember exactly what was said during conference, but something impressed me: "Be happy". What I can not forget is the great peace and happiness I felt listening to District and Mission leaders, and the Area Seventy. I am grateful to be part of this Church and to know that the Lord is guiding it by chosen men selected directly by Him.

Sabato 8 agosto oltre ad essere il nostro terzo anniversario di matrimonio al tempio, si è battezzata Gertrude ed è stata fatta una cerimonia per il matrimonio di Tamara e Filippo Purpari... Purtroppo non sono riuscita ad arrivare in tempo per il battesimo, ma sono tanto contenta che si sia battezzata! Domenica 9 agosto è venuta in chiesa una famiglia di Milano che Xavier ha conosciuto in missione, la famiglia Kone. Ci eravamo messi d'accordo in precedenza perchè venissero a mangiare a casa nostra. Si trovavano in zona perchè sono stati in vacanza al mare per circa un mese, dalle parti di Rimini. Per pranzo abbiamo fatto tipo panini e cose veloci in modo che anche i bimbi non avessero problemi a mangiare. Loro hanno due femmine e un maschio. Elodie si è subito trovata bene con le altre due bimbe e hanno giocato insieme mettendo sotto sopra la camera, ma poi hanno anche messo a posto! Elodie all'inizo fa la timida e osserva, poi si butta e chi la ferma più! Nel pomeriggio sono andati via. Per Xavier è stato bello rivederli visto che erano una delle sue famiglie preferite in missione e per me è stato bello conoscerli. La loro figlia più grande si chiama Erin, Xavier continua a insistere nel voler chiamare un'altra figlia che potremmo avere, con lo stesso nome, ma a me non piace!! E poi magari avremo solo maschi!!! =)

On Saturday, August 8th in addition to being our third temple wedding anniversary, Gertrude got baptized and we had a ceremony for Tamara and Filippo Purpari's wedding... Unfortunately I didn't make it in time for the baptism, but I am so glad that she got baptized! On Sunday, August 9th a family from Milano came in our branch: Xavier met them in his mission, the Kone family. They came to our house for lunch. They came here to visit because they were on holiday at the beach near Rimini for about a month. For lunch we made some sandwiches and other "fast" things to eat so that the children had no problems eating. They have two daughters and a son. Elodie immediately got along very well with the other two girls, they played together and did a big mess in Elodie's bedroom, but then they also tidy it up! Elodie at the beginning is shy and observe everything but then it's hard to stop her! In the afternoon they left. Xavier was happy to see them since they are one of his favorite family from his mission and for me it was nice to get to know them. Their oldest daughter name is Erin, Xavier keeps saying that he wants to name another possible daughter with that name, but I don't like it at all! And maybe we will have only boys! =)

Il 5 agosto invece è stato il nostro già terzo anniversario di matrimonio... il tempo vola, mamma mia!! Xavier ha dovuto lavorare tutto il giorno e io pure, ma ho avuto il tempo di preparare una torta che poi abbiamo mangiato insieme. Elodie era contenta della torta! E pensare che tre anni fa non ce la immaginavamo neanche Elodie.. E adesso è come se ci fosse sempre stata e non ne potremmo fare a meno. Sono stati 3 anni molto pieni, ma belli e sono contenta di averli condivisi con una persona che amo tanto!! Sicuramente anche i prossimi saranno indimenticabili!! Grazie Xavier per la tua pazienza e il tuo amore!!!!!!!!

On August 5th, it was already our third wedding anniversary... time flies, mamma mia! Xavier had to work all day and I had too, but I had time to prepare a cake and then we ate it together. Elodie was very happy about the cake! It's so weird... only 3 years ago we could not even imagine Elodie... And now it is as if she has always been here, we can't imagine life without her. These 3 years were very full of happenings, but beautiful years and I'm glad I shared them with someone I love so much! Surely even the next years will be unforgettable! Xavier thanks for your patience and your love!!!!!!!!


E l'11 agosto è arrivato e quindi anche il compleanno di mia mamma!! Wow 613 anni!! Li porta bene, vero? E per un'età così biblica bisognava proprio festeggiare. Così la sera siamo andati in negozio e poi a casa dei miei dove abbiamo passato un pochino di tempo insieme mangiando la torta fatta dalla Eddis. Noi le abbiamo regalato un quadretto dove mettere le foto molto originale e un campanello per il negozio che quando arrivano i clienti se non trovano nessuno, suonano (difficile da spiegare e capire senza vederlo!). Una serata tranquilla ma importante! Ti voglio tanto bene mamma, e non potrò mai ringraziarti abbastanza per quello che fai per me!

And so August 11th arrived and therefore my mom's birthday!! Wow, 613 years old! She still look young, eh? So.. for a biblical age like this we had to celebrate. In the evening we went to my parent's shoes repair shop and then at their house where we spent a little time together eating the cake made by Eddis. We got my mom a very original frame to put in wall and a kind of bell she can use at their shop so when people come in and noone is there, they can "ring" this little bell..(it's hard to explain it and understand without seeing it!). A normal evening but very important at the same time! I love you so much mom, and I can never thank you enough for all you do for me!


Ci sono stati diversi "addii" o "arrivederci" questa estate: Il primo è stato quello di Renata. Renata viene dall'Albania ed è stata qui a Forlì/Cesena per circa un anno per fare un master per l'università. E' qualche mese più piccola di me e piccolina come me. Le abbiamo fatto una festa per salutarla a casa della famiglia Moss a Cesena il 19 giugno. Era una festa a sorpresa ed è riuscita bene! Poi tutti quelli che non l'hanno potuta salutare quel giorno l'hanno salutata la domenica e abbiamo fatto anche una foto tutti insieme. Mi è dispiaciuto che dovesse tornare a casa, ma sono contenta sia stata nel mio ramo e di averla conosciuta, perchè è molto simpatica!!

There have been several "farewell" or "goodbye" during the summer: Renata was the first one we said goodbye to. Renata is from Albania and she lived here in Forlì/Cesna for about a year to take a master degree. She's a few months younger than me and she's short like me. We had a farewell party for her at the Moss' home in Cesena on June 19th. It was a surprise party and it turned out well! Later, all those who weren't able to say goodbye to her that day, could do it on the following Sunday we took a picture all together. I was sad she had to go home, but I'm glad she was in my branch and that I got to know her because she's very nice!

Poi anziano Deppe ha finito la missione, non è rimasto molto a Forlì, ma abbiamo avuto modo di conoscerlo abbastanza bene e di lavorare con lui e il suo collega. L'altro anziano ad andare via era anziano Mathews. Come famiglia ci siamo molto affezionati a lui, è troppo forte! E soprattutto Elodie: all'inizio non lo guardava neanche, poi lui dandole dei cioccolatini l'ha "conquistata". Proprio un bravo missionario, Xavier dice che anz. Mathews gli ricorda tanto come era lui in missione: crazy! Speravamo che rimanesse per quando veniva la famiglia di Xavier, ma purtroppo è stato trasferito prima, ci è venuto a salutare proprio il martedì sera prima che io partissi per il campeggio delle Giovani Donne. Io ero super agitata per il campeggio e non c'ero proprio con la testa =p C'era anche mia cugina. Abbiamo mangiato tutti insieme la pizza e dopo qualche foto l'abbiamo salutato. E' sempre bello avere dei missionari così e stringere questo genere di amicizie!

Ciao Anziano Deppe!

Then anziano Deppe finished is mission, he was in Forlì for a short time period, but we've got to know him well enough and got to work with him and his companion. The other anziano who left was Anziano Mathews. As a family we became very good friend with him, he is so cool! Espiacially Elodie: at the beginning she wouldn't een look at him, but since he gave her some chocolate he's her favorite!! He's really a good missionary, Xavier says anziano Mathews reminds him so much himself on his mission: Crazy! We hoped he could be her to meet Xavier's family, but unfortunately he was transferred earlier, he came to sy goodbye the Tuesday night before I left for young women camp. I was super stressed about girls camp I wasn't there with my mind! (meaning I was crazier than usual)=p My cousin was there as well. We ate pizza all together and after taking some pictures we said "Ciao". It's always nice to have missionaries like that and create this kind of strong friendship.

Abbiamo comprato il barbecue e l'abbiamo usato qualche volta quest'estate nel piccolo giardino dietro casa nostra. L'abbiamo inaugurato con i missionari (tra cui l'anziano Mathews) il 24 giugno, e Xavier si è divertito a cucinare, all'inizio però non si riusciva ad accendere il fuoco, ma alla fine abbiamo mangiato bene. =)

We bought a barbecue and we used it a few times this summer in our little garden in the back of our home. We cooked on it for the first time when the missionaries came over for lunch (elder Mathews was one of those) on June the 24th. Xavier had funcooking; at the beginning he couldn't light the fire but finally we ate very well. =)

Ho un lavoro! *** I have a job!

Sono tornataaa!!! Finalmente!! L'estate è passata, siamo già in autunno... Il tempo passa così velocemente che quasi non me ne rendo conto. E' stata un'estate piena piena e in certi momenti anche super calda, troppo calda! Ancora adesso ci sono circa 25-26° durante la giornata, adesso si sta bene, fosse sempre questa temperatura qui!

E' difficile poter raccontare brevemente tutte le cose successe quest'estate, perchè oltre a essere tante, alcune sarebbe bello anche raccontarle più dettagliatamente! Ma vedrò quello che riesco a fare. Andrò ad argomenti così magari non rischio di dimenticarmi qualcosa di importante. Partiamo dall'argomento lavoro: Eh sì perchè, a giugno ho ricevuto una telefonata da fratello Giuseppe Fontanella (il responsabile delle traduzioni per la Chiesa in Italia), per dirmi che Simona (una che lavora nel dipartimento traduzioni) e suo marito sono riusciti ad adottare un bambino coreano di 9 mesi e lei quindi doveva andare in maternità, sicuramente per almeno 5 mesi ma poi poteva scegliere di prendersela tutta, cioè circa 11 mesi. Cosa che alla fine ha deciso di fare. Giuseppe non so come (o forse lo so..!) ha pensato a me per sostituire Simona e quindi essere assunta a tempo pieno per fare le traduzioni per la Chiesa. Insomma il mio sogno!!! La Chiesa in generale adesso non assume direttamente, ma come nel mio caso, tramite altre agenzie assume personale. Infatti io sono stata assunta dall'Adecco anche se alla fine i termini sono gli stessi come se fossi assunta dalla Chiesa stessa. Non mi sembrava vero e ancora adesso non mi sembra vero! Anche se non sarà per molto tempo, sono contentissima di avere questa grande opportunità di crescita e soprattutto di realizzazione di uno dei miei sogni! Spesso non mi sento adeguata, gli altri sono tutti così bravi, e io invece.. non mi sento all'altezza, ma alla fine è come una chiamata nella Chiesa: all'inizio non ci sentiamo pronti ma poi il Signore ci aiuta a svolgerlo, cosa che sta accadendo anche a me! E' bello poter lavorare traducendo la rivista della Liahona e altre cose! E' incredibile tutto il lavoro che c'è dietro una traduzione. Piano piano sto scoprendo questo mondo e mi piace sempre di più!
Sono stata assunta e quindi ho cominciato a lavorare il 22 luglio. Sono dovuta andare a Milano a firmare il contratto: quella settimana Xavier era in ferie così siamo andati tutti insieme e con noi c'era anche il mio amico della missione (eravamo nella stessa classe al MTC) Jb che è venuto a casa nostra per circa 2 settimane. A Milano prima sono andata all'Adecco e poi sono andata agli uffici della Chiesa, dove mi sono state date altre istruzioni e Giuseppe mi ha spiegato alcune cose e installato dei programmi. Siamo andati in macchina e poi a Milano ci siamo spostati con la metro. Che strano andare in una città grande, non sono proprio abituata.
Il mio orario è dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 8 alle 17 con un'ora in mezzo per mangiare. Lavoro da casa e siccome il nostro computer aveva qualche problema alla fine Giuseppe mi ha portato quello di Simona, così ora sto usando il suo per lavorare.

Quando è venuta la famiglia di Xavier, per una settimana ho fatto dalle 6 alle 10 di mattina e poi ho avuto 2 settimane di "ferie" perchè poi dovevo anche andare al tempio con i giovani.
All'inzio di questo mese, martedì 8 e mercoledì 9 sono andata a Bologna per un seminario del Dipartimento Traduzioni in Italia. Ci siamo ritrovati tutti e 6 (gli altri venivano da Roma, Genova, Milano, Vercelli e vicino a Bologna) alla stazione e poi con l'autobus siamo andati in cappella, dove Claudia aveva preparato tutto per questo seminario (cibo, regalini, programma). E' stato molto interessante e il cibo preparato da Claudia e altre sorelle del rione di Bologna era buonissimo soprattutto il tiramisù!!!!!!!!!! Che tra l'altro è il mio dolce preferito!! =)
La sera, sempre spostandoci in autobus, siamo andati all'hotel a lasciare le nostre cose e poi siamo andati a mangiare in un ristorante: molto buono ma porzioni troppo piccole (o io ho lo stomaco troppo grande??) Dopo cena abbiamo fatto un bel giro a piedi in centro, abbiamo mangiato un gelato e Claudia ci ha fatto da guida spiegandoci un po' la storia di Bologna e degli edifici più importanti. E' stato proprio bello! Io Bologna l'avevo vissuta in modo completamente diverso quando andavo all'università e non l'avevo mai apprezzata veramente, ma Claudia ce l'ha resa proprio interessantissima! Ho avuto modo anche di conoscere quelli che lavorano nelle traduzioni: sono molto simpatici ed è bello trovarsi tra membri. L'hotel era carino, e la mattina la colazione era buona buona! Siamo poi tornati in chiesa dove abbiamo continuato il seminario poi dopo pranzo siamo andati in stazione per tornare a casa. Mi piace imparare e scoprire cose nuove, cose che prima ignoravo totalmente; sono affascinata da tutto quello che c'è da imparare e vorrei poter conoscere ogni cosa!! Ma per quello ci vuole ancora un bel po' di tempo... Intanto sono grata per queste possibilità meravigliose che mi dà il Signore di lavorare e in qualche modo aiutare nell'edificazione del Suo regno sulla terra!!

Ed Elodie? Chi si prende cura di lei mentre io lavoro?? Alcune sorelle del mio ramo (Monica e Maria Josè) sono venute ad aiutarmi. All'inizio, quando ho cominciato a lavorare, siccome era qua, anche Jb mi ha aiutato stando con Elodie. Adesso è Elena che viene a tenerla, e quando Xavier è a casa, anche lui mi aiuta molto. Quindi volevo ringraziare tutti per il vostro grande aiuto, vi voglio tanto bene!!
Questo lavoro arriva anche in un momento in cui abbiamo molto bisogno.. è proprio una benedizione per noi e sono sicura che non è a caso! =)


I'm baaack! Finally! Summer is over, it's fall already... Time passes so fast that I almost don't realize that. It has been a summer really full of thing and at times even super hot, too hot! Even now there are about 25-26° during the day, now it is fine, I wish it could be always like this!

It's hard to describe briefly all things that happened this summer, because they are many, and some would be nice to tell wiht more details! But I'll see what I can do. I'll divide everything into topics so maybe not I won't forget something important. Ok, so let's start talk about the job: yeah, because in June I received a phone call from brother Giuseppe Fontanella (the "boss" of the translation department of the Church in Italy), he told me that Simona (one sister who works in the translation department) and her husband adopted a Korean child of 9 months and she then had to go on maternity, certainly for at least 5 months but she could choose to take all of it, that is about 11 months. Finally she decided to take all the 11 months. I don't know why (or perhaps I know ..!) Giuseppe thought about me to replace Simona for this time working full-time doing translations for the Church. Well, this was my dream! The Church generally does not hire directly now, but, as in my case, through other job agencies. In fact I was hired by Adecco although eventually the terms of the contract are the same as if I were hired by the Church itself. I couldn't believe it and I still don't, I'm so blessed! Even if it's not for a long time, I'm happy to have this great opportunity to grow and especially to achieve one of my life goals! Often I feel like I'm not up to this job, the other translators are all so good, and I am.. I feel like I'm not, but finally it is like a Church calling: at the beginning, we do not feel ready but then the Lord helps us to fullfill it, exactly like it's happening to me! It's nice to translate the Ensign magazine and other things too! It's unbelievable all the work that is behind a translation. Little by little I'm discovering this world and I love it even more!
I was hired and I started working on July 22nd. I had to go to Milan to sign the contract: Xavier was on vacation that week so we all went together; with us also came my mission friend (we were in the same class at the MTC) Jb who came to visit us for about 2 weeks. Once we got to Milan I went to the Adecco agency first and then the Church offices, where I received more instructions, and Giuseppe explained me some stuff and installed in my computer some programs I needed in order to work. We went to Milan by car, then we took the subway. It's so weird to be in a big city, I'm not really used to.
I have to work from Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with an hour for lunch break. I work from home and since our computer had some problems eventually Giuseppe brought me Simona's computer, so now I'm using hers to work.

San Petronio, Bologna

When Xavier's family came here, the first week I worked only from 6 to 10 am and then I had 2 weeks of "vacation" because I had to go to the temple with the youth of the district.
At the beginning of this month, on Tuesday 8th and on Wednesday 9th I went to Bologna for a seminar of the Translation Department in Italy. We were all there: 6 of us (the other come from Rome, Genoa, Milan, Vercelli and near Bologna). We met at the train station, then we went to the church (by bus), where Claudia prepared everything for this seminar (food, gifts, programs..). It was very interesting and the food prepared by Claudia and other sisters of the Bologna ward was very good especially the tiramisù!!!!!!!!!! Which is my favorite dessert! =)
In the evening, we took the bus again to goto the hotel to leave our bags and then we went to eat at a restaurant: it was very good but portions were too small (or is my stomach too big?) After dinner we did a nice walk around downtown, we ate an ice cream; Claudia was our "tour"guide, she explained a little of the history of Bologna and about the most important buildings. It was really nice! I was seeing Bologna in a completely different way when I was attending university and I never really appreciated it, but Claudia made it come to life and it became interesting! I also got to know the other translators: they are very nice! It is nice to be among members. The hotel was niceas well, and the breakfast in the morning was good! We then returned to the church where we continued the seminar; after lunch we went to the train station to go home. I enjoyed learning and discovering new things, things I had totally ignored until then, I'm fascinated by everything there is to learn and I want to know everything! But for that I still need a lot of time... For now, I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity that the Lord gives me to work and somehow help in the building up of His kingdom on earth!

And Elodie? How can I take care of her while I work?? Some sisters of my branch (Monica and Maria Josè) came to help me. At the beginning, since Jb was here, he baby-sitted Elodie. Elena is coming to help me now, when he's home Xavier help me a lot too. So I wanna thank everyone for your great help, love you lots!!

This job "came" also in a time of need for us, and I don't think it's by chance, it's a real blessing for our family! =)

Festeggiamo! *** Let's celebrate!

Oggi a Rimini ha aperto l'IKEA!!!!!!!!!!!! Che bello!! Quanto mi piace IKEA!!!!! E adesso è ancora più vicina!!!!


Ma.... E' passato anche il compleanno di Xavier!! Siamo a giugno!! E' caldo!!! Sono già arrivate le zanzare tigre!!! (Sì noi qui abbiamo l'immensa fortuna di avere non semplicemente le zanzare normali, ma anche quelle tigre, eravamo stanchi delle solite così ne sono venute fuori delle altre, più forti! =p)





Comunque parlando un attimo di ciò che è successo in questi ultimi giorni, domenica 31 maggio siccome i miei erano al tempio quando abbiamo festeggiato il compleanno di Elodie, abbiamo rifatto una piccola festa (dopo le riunioni a casa dei miei) dove i miei e Ariele hanno dato i loro regali a Elodie che era a dir poco contenta delle attenzioni, delle foto e soprattutto dei giochi!

AHH un regalo per me!! AHH a present for me!!

Il primo giugno Arielino è venuto a casa nostra per dormire, perchè il giorno dopo era il compleanno di Xavier. Nel pomeriggio infatti siamo andati al Bennet per comprare alcune cose da mangiare per festeggiare il giorno dopo (Xavier lavorava). La sera, dopo aver messo a letto Elodie, loro hanno guardato uno dei "loro" film e io mi sono ri-guardata Twilight!! Mamma mia, non l'ho visto da molto per la prima volta, e non pensavo che mi sarebbe piaciuto così tanto... adesso non vedo l'ora che esca il secondo. Ogni volta che lo guardo mi sembra di essere in un sogno.. Non perchè l'attore, quello che Edward, sia carino, anzi, ma è proprio la storia che mi piace!

Tornando alla realtà, martedì 2 giugno (che oltretutto è festa in Italia!) Xavier ha compiuto 25 anni!! Anche lui invecchia!! Gli avevo fatto uno scherzo, infatti gli avevo messo come regalo un libretto di Elodie e quellovero glielo avevo nascosto! E' stato molto contento di trovare il dvd edizione speciale di "Le pagine perdute"! Era da un po' che lo voleva! Come ha detto lui è stato un compleanno un po' "misterioso" perchè poi dai miei ha ricevuto un libro su qualche mistero e poi il dvd di un documentario sul mistero dei cerchi nel grano, poi un altro libro sullo stesso tipo da Ariele e l'unica cosa non "misteriosa" era la cioccolata!!!

Ariele e Xavier hanno passato buona parte della giornata a guardare la televisione (ovviamente il dvd de "Le pagine perdute" con i contenuti speciali. Con Ariele, anche se Xavier diceva che non era necessario, abbiamo decorato la sala e poi per fargli una sorpresa sono venuti i missionari: anz.Mathews e Mcdonald. Con loro abbiamo mangiato la piccola torta e fatto qualche foto in più perchè anz. Mcdonald è stato trasferito. Sono troppo forti questi missionari!

La sera siamo andati, sempre con Ariele, a mangiare al Maccanone, un posto vicino a casa nostra dove fanno la bruschetta al metro... hmmm così buona!!!! Penso proprio che Xavier abbia passato un bel compleanno, era felice almeno e questo è il più importante, gli voglio tanto bene!!!!!!!!!!!!

Per il resto non sono successe cose particolari... la solita vita: Xavier lavora, io sto a casa con Elodie, vado a pulire dalla signora di sopra una volta alla settimana... niente di chè... Ma questa sarà un'estate davvero piena!!!!!! Speriamo bene! =)

Noi con anz. McDonald! ------ With elder McDonald!

Today IKEA opened in Rimini!!!!!!!!!!!! This is awesome! I really like IKEA!!!!! And now it's even closer!!
Anyway ... Xavier's birthday is already gone as well! We are in June! It's hot! "Tiger" mosquitoes have already arrived! (Yes, here we are so lucky to have not only the "normal" mosquitoes, but also the tiger ones, we were tired of the usual ones that we found others: even stronger! = P)

However, talking for a little bit about what happened recently, on Sunday, May 31st since my parents were at the temple when we celebrated Elodie's birthday, we had another small party (after church meetings at my parents' house) and my parents and Ariele gave her some gifts. Elodie was soooo happy of all the attention, the pictures and especially the toys!


On June 1st Arielino came to sleept over here, because the next day was Xavier's birthday. In the afternoon (Xavier was working) we went to Bennet to buy something to eat and to celebrate the day after. In the evening, when Elodie was asleep, they watched one of "their" movie and I watched again Twilight! Mamma mia, I've seen it for the first time not too long ago, and I didn't think I would have liked it so much... now I cannot wait for the second one to come out. Every time I watch it I feel like in a dream.. Not because of the actor, I don't think Edward is cute, but it is just the story that I like!

Coming back to reality, on Tuesday, June 2nd (which is a holiday in Italy!) Xavier turned 25 years old! He's getting old as well! I made a little joke: I gave hime as a present one of Elodie's book while the real one was hidden! He was very happy to find the DVD special edition of "National Treasure 2"! He really wanted buy for a long time! As he said, it was a 'mysterious' birthday; because he got a book about some mystery from my parents, then the DVD of a documentary about the mystery of crop circles, then another book on the same type from Ariele and the only thing not "mysterious" was the chocolate!

Ariele and Xavier spent most of the day watching tv (of course the DVD of "National Treasure" and all the bonus). Ariele and I, even though Xavier said it was not necessary, decorated the room and then the missionaries elder McDonald and elder Mathews, It was a surprise for him. We ate a small cake and took some more picuteres because elder Mcdonald was transferred. These missionaries are so cool!

In the evening we went (Ariele came with us), to "Maccanone" to eat: it's a place near our house where they make the "bruschetta" ... hmmm sooo good!! I really think that Xavier had a good birthday, he was happy and this is the most important, I love him so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

Otherwise nothing special happened... just normal life: Xavier works, I'm home with Elodie, once a week I go cleaning the house of the lady upstairs... nothing more... But this summer will be really full!!!!!! Hopefully everything will be great! =)

Buon Compleanno Elodie!! *** Happy Birthday Elodie!!

Elodie ha già compiuto 2 anni!!!!!!!!!! Ancora non mi sembra vero che sia già passato così taaaanto tempo... e come è cresciuta! Io me ne rendo conto dalla foto! E' sempre più tremenda, ma al tempo stesso brava. Adesso dice "sì", è più un "tchì", il "no" lo dice bene già da un po' e lo usa moooolto spesso! Dice "nonna" e ogni tanto quando le facciamo ripetere le parole, dice qualcosa di simile. Comunque anche se non parla, parla molto con tutti i suoi versi e suoni e canta anche, e come canta!!! Prende l'innario che abbiamo in casa, lo apre e si mette a cantare a squarcia gola. Le piace guardare la televisione, e quelli che guarda sempre sono i Teletubbies, La Sirenetta 3, Trilli, e Cip e Ciop!! La sera ogni tanto guardiamo il programma "Striscia la Notizia" e alla fine c'è una musica che le piace tanto ballare...! E' troppo forte!! Dice anche qualcosa che sembra "Bonne nuit" (buona notte in francese). Del vasino non ne vuole sapere di usarlo, l'ha usato una volta, preferisce metterci il suo bambolotto. Le piace tanto il suo bambolotto e il suo teletubbie.
E' una bimba allegra e felice e sa bene quello che vuole, è molto intelligente e impara in fretta.

Il lunedì prima del suo compleanno (25 maggio), siamo andati al Bennet per fare un po' di spesa per il compleanno della patata; il regalo (un triciclo l'abbiamo comprato la settimana prima). E mentre mettevo a posto il carrello, quando mi sono girata mi sono trovata davanti la Barbara (la mia insegnante di ginnastica ritmica che non vedevo da tanti anni!) con il suo bimbo! E' stato bello rivederla per qualche minuto!! Il giorno prima del compleanno di Elodie, nel pomeriggio abbiamo fatto i biscotti: Elodie si è divertita molto perchè le piace fare i pasticcetti!! Fino al giorno prima del suo compleanno faceva caldisssssssimo, temperatura più che estiva, così avevamo pensato di fare la festa fuori, nel giardino. E invece il 27 maggio c'è stato un vento fortissimo e una gran pioggia/tempesta che hanno rinfrescato molto, così sì, si stava molto meglio ma al tempo stesso abbiamo dovuto fare la festa dentro. Elena è passata la mattina a fare gli auguri. Non è venuta alla festa perchè c'è la probabilità che abbia gli orecchioni.... poverina! Speriamo di no! Comunque è passata lo stesso, perchè ci teneva. Alla festa dovevano venire un pochino più persone di quelle che sono venute, ma Elodie non fa caso ancora a queste cose, non si rende ancora bene conto di cosa sia il compleanno! Sono venuti i Moss, e Gloria. Diciamo le persone più importanti per Elodie: Gabe il futuro marito, e Gloria la sua grande amica!!! E' stata una bella festa con tanto cibo che abbiamo mangiato anche nei giorni successivi... la torta è venuta bene anche e molto buona! Di regalo le ho anche dato un gioco che era mio quando ero piccola: la specchiera con alcuni accessori! Le piace anche quello!! I miei genitori e Ariele, non c'erano perchè si trovavano in Svizzera, al tempio, però oggi, domenica, mia mamma ha dato il regalo a Elodie!! E in chiesa dopo le riunioni abbiamo mangiato tutti insieme per festeggiare i compleanni di maggio e i due di giugno (Xavier e il pres. Moss!) Quanti membri che sono nati in questo periodo!!!

Venerdì scorso (29 maggio) siccome avevo la riunione del condominio di Dovadola (che con mia grande sorpresa è durata solo 2 ore e mezza!) ho lasciato Elodie da Narcisa. Narcisa era molto preoccupata che Elodie non volesse stare lì da lei e invece Elodie mi ha quasi mandata via, senza problemi! Si è divertita e anche la famiglia Garcia si è divertita ad averla per qualche ora. E' addirittura andata di sua spontanea volontà in bagno, per farla sul gabinetto!! A casa non lo vuole MAI fare!!!!!!!!

Spesso non me ne rendo conto ma siamo proprio benedetti ad avere Elodie nella nostra famiglia: le voglio tanto bene anche se a volte è tremenda e mi fa già perdere la pazienza!!!

Elodie is already 2 years old!!!!!!!!!! It still doesn't seem real that sooo much time is gone ... and she has grown a lot! I realized that looking at her pictures! She's more and more terrible, but at the same time good. Now she can say "sì", it is more like a "tchì", she can say the "no" for a long time, and uses it very often too! She says "nonna" (grandma) and sometimes when we repeat some words, she tries to repeat them saying something similar. However even if she doesn't speak with real words, she talks a lot with all her verses and sounds and she sings too, she loves it! She takes the hymn book we have in the house, opens it and starts to sing at loud. She likes watching television, and she loves to watch The Teletubbies, The Little Mermaid 3 Tinkerbell, and Chip and Dale (over and over...)! At night sometimes we watch the tv program "Striscia la Notizia" and at the end of it there is a music that she likes and starts to dance like crazy...! She's sooo funny! She even says something that sounds like "Bonne nuit" (good night in French). She doesn't want to go potty, she went only once, she rather put her dolls in it. She has a favorite doll and a teletubbies doll.

She's cheerful and happy little girl and knows exactly what she wants, she's very intelligent and learns quickly.

On the Monday before her birthday (May 25th), we went to Bennet (the mall where Xavier works) to buy some stuff for the birthday of our litle "potato", we bought her present (a tricycle) the week before. While I was putting the cart in its place, I met Barbara (my rhythmics gymnastic teacher who I haven't seen for several years!) With her little boy! I was really happy to see her again even for a few minutes! The day before Elodie's birthday, in the afternoon, we made cookies: Elodie had a lot of fun because she likes to do mess! Until the day before her birthday it was super hot, the temperature was like summertime or worst, so we plannes doing the party outside in the garden. But, on May 27th we had a big storm that reduced the heat a lot, so yes, it was much better but at the same time we had to do the party inside. Elena came in the morning to tell Elodie "Happy Birthday". She didn't come to the party because maybe she has mumps.... poor Elena! I hope not! She came anyway, because it was important for her. At the party should have come a some more people than those who came, but Elodie doesn't realize these kind of things yet, she doesn't even realize very well what a birthday is! The Moss family, and Gloria came to the birthday party. Let's say the most important people for Elodie: Gabe, her future husband, and Gloria her great friend! It was a nice party with lots food that we ate in the days after as well... the cake was also beautiful and very good! I gave her a toy that belonged to me when I was her age as a present: a big mirror with some accessories! She likes that too! My parents and Ariele, weren't there because they were in Switzerland, at the temple, but today, Sunday, my mom gave a present to Elodie! And in the meetings after church we ate all together to celebrate all the birthdays in May and the two in June (Xavier and pres. Moss!) So many members are born in this period!

Last Friday (May 29th) since I had a meeting with the other owners of the apartments of the building in Dovadola (meeting that to my great surprise lasted only 2 hours and a half!) I left Elodie with Narcisa. Narcisa was very worried that Elodie didn't want to stay there with her, but instead Elodie almost sent me away, without no problems! She had fun and the Garcia family enjoyed having her for a few hours. She even ask to go to the bathroom! At home she NEVER wants to do it!!!!!!!!

I often do not realize that, but we are truly blessed to have Elodie in our family: I love her so much even if sometimes she makes me mad loose patience!

Ancora una volta... *** One more time...

... un mese è passato e io non ho scritto.... Tutto normale allora! =) Non so proprio da dove cominciare.... ancora una volta ci sarebbero parecchie cose da raccontare.... troppe.... E anche questa volta rischio di scrivere un sacco... E anche questo è normale! =p
Allora cercando di partire dall'inizio e sperando di non essere troppo noiosa, sabato 4 aprile, proprio il giorno della conferenza generale, è arrivato a casa dei miei genitori un ragazzo dal Messico, Jesus, che è venuto in Italia principalmente per fare un corso all'Antoniano di Bologna, ma poi anche per conoscere meglio alcune persone, come per esempio la mia famiglia con la quale si era messo in contatto telefonicamente qualche mese fa' per sapere come fare a venire in Italia, ecc. Ha imparato italiano da solo e insegna ai bambini messicani a cantare in italiano, per questo gli piace tanto "Lo Zecchino D'Oro!" Jesus ha l'età di Xavier e nel tempo che è rimasto dai miei abbiamo avuto l'opportunità di conoscerlo meglio: è molto simpatico e bravo! Doveva rimanere a casa dei miei genitori solo fino a mercoledì 8 aprile, per poi andare da una famiglia a Roma, ma vista la situazione dopo il terremoto, questa famiglia aveva dato la disponibilità ad ospitare delle persone dell'Abruzzo, così non potevano ospitare anche Jesus, che è rimasto anche per Pasqua e fino a quando non è partito per Bologna per fare il corso che aspettava con impazienza.

Lunedì 6 aprile lo abbiamo portato un po' in giro per Forlì (non che ci sia molto da vedere) e gli abbiamo fatto assaggiare il gelato italiano e poi il panino Kebab (che non è italiano, ma è buonisssimo!!). Mentre stavamo finendo di mangiare il gelato sono arrivati i missionari che poi hanno fatto la strada con noi fino al posto dove fanno i Kebab per poi dire che loro volevano il gelato e non il Kebab! E' stato buffo!! La sera sono andata a portare il regalo a Gloria per il suo compleanno! Ne è stata molto contenta! Mamma mia ha già 12 anni!!!!

Il giorno dopo, martedì 7 aprile, nel pomeriggio, ho accomapagnato Jesus dalla famiglia Moss. I bambini a cui insegna canto in Messico avevano scritto delle lettere a Eli, Adam e Gabriel, così lui li voleva conoscere! Elodie è stata contentissima di stare fuori all'aria aperta e giocare con il suo amico Gabriel! Il tempo era bellissimo!! E per me è stato bello parlare un po' con Rebekah! Lei è troppo forte!!!!!! Sabato mattina nella pausa pranzo che Xavier ha avuto, insieme a Elodie ha preparato i salatini per la domenica, cioè il giorno di Pasqua. A Elodie piace tanto aiutare papà quando fa da mangiare! Nel pomeriggio avevo promesso a mio babbo che sarei andata as aiutarlo a preparare da mangiare. Faceva le lasagne!!! Così sono andata, Elodie è sempre molto contenta di vedere la nonna, non aspettava altro! Ho parlato anche un po' con Jesus soprattutto di musica! Poi mi sono fatta un po' di muscoli nel stendere la pasta per le lasagne... mio babbo è davvero bravo! La Pasqua per me quest'anno è arrivata così velocemente che quasi non me ne sono neanche accorta! Infatti credo di non aver fatto gli auguri a quasi nessuno... Scusate!!! La mattina di Pasqua ovviamente siamo andati in chiesa come tutte le altre domeniche. Io sono rimasta nelle Giovani Donne perchè era la prima domenica per Gloria! Che poi alla fine per una cosa e per un'altra per la lezione erano rimasti solo 10 minuti! Alla scuola domenicale invece la classe era praticamente piena! Wow non succede quasi mai, anzi MAI!! E' stata una bella mattinata, un'occasione in più per ricordare il grande amore che il Padre celeste e Gesù Cristo hanno per noi e quello che ha sofferto Gesù per darci la possibilità di essere salvati per tornare a vivere nuovamente con Loro. Sono molto grata di questo e di sapere che ora Lui è risorto, e vive e continua a guidare la Sua chiesa qui sulla terra tramite un Profeta vivente: Thomas S. Monson.
Come da tradizione il pranzo l'abbiamo fatto a casa di mio nonno; e c'erano i missionari, Lella, Amalia, Maurice e Gloria, una sorella inglese che era lì quella domenica, Jesus, noi tre, i miei con Ariele e naturalmente mio nonno! Un po' di gente!! Il pranzo è inutile dirlo era buonissimo!!! Xavier aveva fatto anche due torte di mele ancora più buone di quella che aveva fatto per la conferenza generale la settimana prima! Amalia aveva portato un uovo di Pasqua enorme, invece Elodie era tutta contenta di aprire il suo che le ha regalato una collega di lavoro di Xavier. A Elodie non interessava tanto la sorpresa (che tra l'altro era una delle Winx...) ma la cioccolata!!! =) Siamo rimasti lì da mio nonno fino alla sera per pulire e mettere a posto e così è passata anche Pasqua....
Lunedì, pasquetta, avevamo programmato di andare a San Marino con Jesus. Arielino doveva venire con noi, ma alla fine ha accompagnato a Venezia quella sorella inglese per aiutarla a cambiare il biglietto dell'aereo... Non farò commenti su questo perchè ne sono già stati fatti tanti quel giorno... Però da quel momento prendiamo spesso in giro Ariele...!!! Elodie è rimasta con i nonni! Era una bella giornata. Jesus era entusiasto di tutto quello che vedeva!! Ha comprato diverse cose, approfittando dei prezzi bassi. Abbiamo mangiato in un ristorante, mooolto buono e poco costoso. Poi per smaltire abbiamo camminato tanto!! Jesus ha un "amico" che si chiama Punno. Ogni settimana Punno fa una piccola lezione per gli studenti di canto di Jesus. Punno era anche a San Marino e per far vedere che lo conoscono anche lì, ha incontrato qualcuno che l'ha riconosciuto.... Bè è il caso che guardiate da voi stessi anche perchè forse non avete capito niente...!

Abbiamo portato qualcosina per Elodie: un cagnolino peluche morbidissssimo!!
Martedì pomeriggio sono andata a Forlì per scambiare un po' di musica con Jesus che aveva un sacco di roba, e alla fine l'ho anche accompagnato a comprarsi un'altra valigia perchè non gli bastavano più quelle che aveva!! La sera l'abbiamo salutato perchè poi lui il giorno dopo è partito per Bologna per andare all'Antoniano. E' stato bello conoscerlo! Poverino, dopo poco che è tornato a casa in Messico, è venuta fuori l'influenza suina, così era bloccato in casa, non poteva far lezione e neanche andare in chiesa.... perfortuna ora la situazione è tornata più alla normalità anche se questa influenza è ancora in giro.
Giovedì 16 aprile nel pomeriggio Elena è venuta a casa nostra e insieme siamo andate al Bennet. Poi la sera abbiamo guardato un film insieme. Mi piace passare il tempo con la mia amica; Elodie ormai la conosce e quando la vede non la lascia più!
Sabato 18 e domenica 19 aprile abbiamo avuto la Conferenza del Distretto di Rimini. Il sabato dopo la prima sessione della conferenza, con le giovani donne e le dirigenti abbiamo fatto l'ultima prova dell'inno "Cammino per fede" che poi abbiamo cantato la domenica. Eravamo un po' decimate per varie ragioni ma è venuto abbastanza bene! Inutile dire che la conferenza è stata molto bella, un'altra ricarica per la settimana o anche il mese. La domenica oltre a mio zio è venuta anche mia zia e i miei cugini, ma non sono rimasti tantissimo dopo perchè avevano da fare. Alcune delle cose che mi sono rimaste impresse in questa conferenza sono state:
Dimostrare la fede con le nostre azioni, servendo anche nei nostri incarichi, questo la accresce. Dobbiamo servire con il cuore perchè ogni volta che serviamo siamo preparati per qualcos'altro, non qualcosa di più grande ma qualcos'altro. Ci è stato inoltre chiesto espressamente di pregare incessantemente per il tempio a Roma, affinchè tutto possa andare bene per la sua costruzione, e pregare anche per il Palo di Roma che sta anche affrontando una grande difficoltà (aiutare le famiglie colpite dal terremoto). Nel primo pomeriggio nella chiesa di Rimini abbiamo avuto (i dirigenti del distretto) il consiglio di Distretto. Alla fine siamo arrivati a casa verso le 17!! E siamo andati a casa dei miei. Così Elodie è stata contenta di stare un po' con la nonna! Durante la conferenza è stata bravissima! Non ha fatto rumore, e ci ha permesso di ascoltare buona parte della conferenza!!

E alla fine sabato 25 aprile è arrivato. In Italia è festa nazionale così Xavier non doveva lavorare. La presidenza dei giovani uomini del distretto ha organizzato un'attività per loro e hanno invitato anche le giovani donne. In teoria all'inzio non dovevo e non mi andava neanche di andare, ma poi siccome nessuno avrebbe accompagnato Gloria, sono andata e con me Xavier e Elodie. L'attività consisteva nel visitare la diga di Ridracoli, fare una camminata di qualche chilometro e poi visitare il museo dell'acqua. Eravamo un bel gruppo anche perchè c'erano dei membri che non c'entravano niente con l'attività... Noi non eravamo mai andati a Ridracoli e pensare che dista solo un'oretta da Forlimpopoli! Infatti il ritrovo era a Forlimpopoli. E' molto bello lassù e siamo stati fortunati ad avere una bella giornata perchè i giorni prima e il giorno dopo pioveva!! La camminata che era un po' in salita è stata faticosa, soprattutto perchè non sono abituata: dovrei fare delle camminate così tutti i giorni, vedrai che li mando via questi chili di troppo!! =)
Anche a Elodie è piaciuto molto, lei poi non ha fatto per niente fatica perchè l'ha portata Xavier con una specie di marsupio sulle spalle! In certi momenti avrei voluto essere al suo posto!!! Sicuramente ci torneremo quando quest'estate verrà la famiglia di Xavier!
Verso le 17 eravamo già a Forlì! Abbiamo portato Gloria a casa e poi siamo passati dai miei per fare un saluto. Eravamo comunque distrutti........ eccetto Elodie!!

Domenica 26 aprile sono stata di nuovo in visita nelle Giovani Donne. Xavier doveva lavorare solo la mattina e invece poi gli hanno fatto fare tutto il giorno... poverino!! Era molto arrabbiato per questo. Così dopo le riuonioni invece di andare a casa sono andata dai miei, Elodie ovviamente era contenta di stare con la nonna!! La sera siamo andate a casa abbastanza presto, Xavier è uscito dal lavoro alle 19 e dopo abbiamo parlato per l'ultima volta con Adam tramite Skype, perchè il primo maggio è partito per la missione!

Lunedì 27 aprile Elodie ha fatto un altro passo per avvicinarsi ai 2 anni... infatti ha fatto 23 mesi! La mattina ho fatto una riunione con Sabrina perchè dobbiamo organizzare il campeggio di luglio delle Giovani Donne. E' la prima volta che lo facciamo o meglio che lo faremo, ci sono tanti aspetti a cui pensare... nel pomeriggio con Xavier siamo usciti perchè avevamo diverse cose da andare a pagare e ne abbiamo approfittato anche per andare alla libreria dove abbiamo gli sconti a comprare un paio di libri! Io ne ho preso uno che dovrebbe aiutarmi a fare un po' di esercizio... Intanto l'ho cominciato a leggere poi dovrò cominciare anche ad applicarlo...!! Devo vincere la pigrizia che continua a perseguitarmi da quando ero incinta!!

Adesso a Forlì ci sono 4 missionari!! Ne sono arrivati altri 2, di cui uno nuovo nuovo!! Era da tanto che non ne avevamo 4! La nuova coppia di anziani sono venuti a casa nostra mercoledì 29 aprile per conoscerci un po' e ci hanno lasciato un programma di lettura del Libro di Mormon. Io la mattina avevo fatto una torta al limone... non era venuta benissimo ma per me era buona!! Invece il primo maggio è venuta l'altra coppia a pranzo a casa nostra. Finalmente c'era il sole e faceva anche caldo!! Xavier ha cucinato le verdure ripiene... buonissime! E abbiamo mangiato fuori, nel giardino di casa. Era la prima volta!! Così abbiamo inaugurato il tavolo che abbiamo comprato poco tempo fa'. Ci siamo anche muniti di uno spray contro le zanzare (anche e soprattutto quelle tigri) così quest'estate potremo goderci di più il nostro piccolo giardino!!!
Domenica 3 maggio ho fatto io la lezione nelle Giovani Donne perchè Mila è andata a uno stage di Karate.... Così ho fatto 2 lezioni: GD e Scuola Domenicale! Perfortuna che poi non avevo anche il discorso! Però essendo la prima domenica del mese, ho portato la mia testimonianza così ho fatto tris! =) Mia mamma è venuta a casa nostra per aiutarmi, siccome dovevamo preparare le cose per partire per il tempio. Così lei si è occupata di Elodie che, inutile dirlo, era contentisssssima!!
Grazie mamma del tuo aiuto!!!!!!!!! Lunedì 4 maggio siamo partiti verso le 5:45 per andare al tempio!!!!!!!! E' stata una bella settimana: io mi sono comprata il vestito per il tempio!! Xavier ed io ci siamo alternati per le varie sessioni, perchè uno restava con Elodie. Poi il giovedì siamo riusciti a fare una sessione insieme e abbiamo lasciato Elodie insieme alla famiglia Loberto che abbiamo conosciuto in quei giorni. Sono molto bravi e simpatici, abitano a pochissima distanza dai Corvasce e hanno due bimbi. Lorenzo di 5 (mi sembra) anni e Natalia di 2 e mezzo! Elodie si è fatta una nuova amica!! Durante la settimana siamo andati a trovare una coppia francese, missionari nel tempio che Xavier conosce bene e a cui la sua famiglia aveva lasciato due scatoloni per noi con vestiti e cose varie per Elodie. Dentro a uno scatolone c'era un Teletubbies e Elodie non lo mollava un secondo! Siamo anche andati a trovare il presidente del tempio e sua moglie che è pres. Castellani. Lo conoscevamo già (sua sorella sarebbe un membro del ramo di Forlì) ed è stato bello passare un pochino di tempo con loro. Fino a mercoledì sera non c'era tanta gente nell'ostello, ma poi si è riempito: praticamente è arrivato quasi tutto il rione di Pavia che sono venuti per il matrimonio nel tempio di una giovane coppia. C'erano un sacco di bambini!! E poi ho conosciuto una sorella che si chiama Erika (con la k!) che assomiglia un sacco a Paulina Lascano... Ma è forte perchè anche lei viene dall'Equador ed era tutta allegra proprio come Paulina!! Solo che lei ha tre figlie ed è sposato con un italiano che ha servito anche se per pochissimo tempo la missione a Forlì! Mi ha fatto venire una gran nostalgia di Paulina... mi manca tanto....!! Ti voglio tanto bene Paulina!!!!!!!!!

Siamo partiti dalla Svizzera venerdì così venerdì sera eravamo a casa. Elodie non dorme più così tanto nella macchina, anzi quasi per niente.. stanno finendo i bei tempi! Però è abbastanza brava, non ci si può lamentare. E' un po' triste lasciare il tempio e tornare nel "mondo" però siamo tornati con una maggiore carica e un certo senso riposati! Anche se io mi sono presa un bel raffredore e un pochino anche Elodie. Siamo tornati nel caldo! In Svizzera all'inizio della settimana era freschino, ma poi si era scaldato anche lì, ma non quanto qua a Forlì! E' brutto avere il raffreddore quando fa caldo!!!!!!! Quando siamo tornati abbiamo anche avuto la bella sorpresa di trovare una lettera da Adam o elder Raveau!!! Così poi domenica gli abbiamo risposto e Elodie ha fatto un disegno per lui!!! =)

Domenica 10 maggio era la festa della mamma!!!!! E alla fine delle riuonioni ogni mamma e futura mamma ha ricevuto una rosa e un cioccolatino dagli "uomini" del ramo!! Abbiamo anche mangiato tutti insieme perchè dopo noi sorelle avevamo l'addestramento delle insegnati visitatrici.

Lunedì 11 maggio è ricominciata la vita di tutti i giorni però con un po' più di energia e entusiasmo. Nel pomeriggio sono passati i missionari (la nuova coppia) per farci un saluto. Martedì 12 maggio, la sera, Elodie e io siamo andate al parco urbano per trovarci con Elena. Era praticamente un mese che non ci vedevamo! Abbiamo passeggiato un po' (a Elodie piace tanto camminare!) e poi ci siamo prese una piadina (che Elodie si è mangiata quasi tutta!) Mi piace tanto quel parco...

Giovedì 14 maggio, la mattina sono andata dal dentista... mi ha tolto una carie e ancora adesso mi fa un po' male il dente... =( Oltre a togliermi una carie mi ha anche tolto un bel po' di soldi! Forse se facessi il dentista...!! =) Nel pomeriggio è venuta mia mamma a tenermi Elodie perchè io dovevo andare all'addestramento per dirigenti dei giovani fatto dalla missione. Mentre aspettavo che arrivasse mia mamma è anche venuta la zia Paola insieme a Secondo che ha portato un po di vestitini per Elodie. Io poi quando è arrivata mia mamma sono andata via, al mio ritorno mi sono accorta che Secondo aveva tolto tutte le erbacce dal giardino e mia mamma mi ha detto che invece la zia Paola (che è la mia pro-zia perchè è la sorella di mia nonna) ha spazzato! Che gentili!! Parlando dell'addestramento a Rimini, è stato interessante, l'ha fatto pres. Polelli (che è anche mio zio!) Ci sono sempre tante cose che si possono fare per migliorare, è incredibile!! Non si finisce veramente mai di imparare!

Venerdì 15 abbiamo avuto di nuovo i missionari a pranzo, ma questa volta la coppia nuova. Abbiamo fatto qualcosa di fresco anche se quel giorno non ha fatto caldissimo...!! E poi le fragole con la panna.... trooooppo buone!!!
Anche questa domenica ho dovuto fare io la lezione nelle Giovani Donne perchè Mila non c'era e abbiamo parlato del matrimonio nel tempio. Gloria è rimasta molto colpita da questa lezione... e io invece mi sono resa conto ancora di più di quano sono grata di aver avuto questa benedizione di sposarmi per il tempo e per l'eternità e delle sacre alleanze che ho fatto con mio marito e il Signore nel tempio. Devo fare del mio meglio per vivere degnamente ora!!!!!! E sono specialmente grata di avere un marito così speciale che ha tanta pazienza con me!!! =)
E' incredibile quante cose possano succere in così poco tempo, quando finisce una settimana, sembra che non sia successo poi tanto, ma poi quando mi ritrovo a scrivere di cosa è successo in un mese... wow, ci sono davvero tante cose! Oppure sono io che voglio raccontare e scrivere troppo... dev'essere anche questo!! =)
Oggi Xavier è uscito prima dal lavoro per prendere il treno per Milano per fare un colloquio di lavoro (per questa zona credo)...... speriamo bene!!!!!!!!!!!!

... one month is gone and I haven't written.... That's quite normal then! =) I really don't know where to start.... once again there would be many things to say.... too many .... And even this time I'll write a lot... And this is normal too! =p
Well, trying to start from the beginning and hoping not to be too boring: on Saturday April 4th, the same day of General Conference, arrived at the house of my parents a boy from Mexico, Jesus, who came to Italy mainly to a course at the "Antoniano" of Bologna, but also to meet some people, like my family with whom he had been in touch by phone for a few months, since he called to know how to come to Italy, etc.. He learned Italian by himself and he teaches Mexican children to sing in Italian, that's why he likes so much "Lo Zecchino D'Oro!" Jesus has the age of Xavier and in the time he stayed at my parents ' home we had the chance to get to know him better: he is very nice and talented! He had to stay home with my parents until Wednesday April 8th, then go to a family in Rome, but because of the situation after the earthquake, this family had given their availability to accommodate people from Abruzzo, so they could not accommodate even Jesus, who stayed here also for Easter, until he left for Bologna to do the course that was waiting with impatience.

Monday, April 6th, we took him to visit Forlì (not that there is much to see) and we made him taste the Italian ice cream and then the Kebab sandwich (which is not Italian, but it's soooo good!). While we were finishing eating the ice cream we met the missionaries who then came with us until the Kebab place and then they said that they wanted ice cream, not Kebab! It was funny! In the evening, I went to give the gift to Gloria for her birthday! She was very happy! Mamma mia, she's already 12 years old!

The next day, Tuesday April 7th, in the afternoon, I took Jesus to visit the Moss family. The children he teaches singing in Mexico wrote letters to Eli, Adam and Gabriel, so he wanted to know them! Elodie was very excited to be out in the open air and play with her friend Gabriel! The weather was beautiful! And I enjoyed talking a little with Rebekah! She is cool!!!!!! Saturday morning in his lunch break, Xavier, helped by Elodie prepared snacks for the Sunday, that is Easter. Elodie likes to help dad cooking! In the afternoon, I had promised my dad that I would go to help him cooking. It was making lasagna! So I went, Elodie is always very happy to see her grandmother! I also talked a little with Jesus especially of music! Then I "stretched the muscles" in preparing the pasta for lasagna... My dad is really good! This year, for me, Easter came so fast that I hardly even noticed! In fact I think I have not made greetings to almost anyone ... Sorry! On Easter morning we went to church like all other Sundays. I went in the Young Women class because it was the first Sunday for Gloria! At the end for various reasons the lesson was only 10 minutes long! At the sunday school class, the class was almost full! Wow, that doesn't happen sometimes, but NEVER! It was a nice morning, an opportunity to remember more of the great love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us and of what Jesus had to suffer to give us the chance to be saved and to return to live again with them. I am very grateful for this and I know that now He is risen, and lives and continues to guide His church here on earth through a living prophet: Thomas S. Monson.
Like every Easter, we had lunch at my grandfather's house; there were the missionaries, Lella, Amalia, Maurice and Gloria, an english sister who was there that Sunday, Jesus, the three of us, my parents and Ariele and of course my grandfather! Just a few people =p! Useless to say it, lunch was delicious! Xavier made two apple pies even more good than the ones he did for general conference the week before! Amalia brought a huge Easter egg, instead Elodie was all happy to open hers received as a present from a Xavier's work colleague. Elodie was more interested in the chocolate than the surprise (which, by the way, was one of the Winx ...)! =) We stayed at my grandfather's home until the evening to clean and wash everything and even Easter is already gone....
On Monday, we planned to go to San Marino with Jesus. Arielino had to come with us, but finally he went to Venice with that english sister to help her change the plane ticket... I will not make any comment on it because they have already been made so many that day... But from that moment we often tease Ariele...!!! Elodie stayed with her grandparents! It was a beautiful day. Jesus was excited about everything we saw! He bought several things, taking advantage of low prices. We ate in a restaurant, reeeeally good and inexpensive. Then we walked a lot to loose some of the wieght we gained! Jesus has a "friend" who is called Punno. Every week Punno give a small lesson for all the music students of Jesus. Punno was also in San Marino and to show that he's known even there, he met someone who recognized him.... Well it's better for you to watch for yourself because maybe you don't understand what I am talking about...!

On tuesday afternoon I went to Forli to exchange some music we Jesus he had a lot of stuff, and finally I even took him to buy another suitcase because the ones he had were no longer enough! In the evening we greeted him because the next day he left for Bologna to go to Antoniano. It has been nice to get to know him! Shortly after he went back home to Mexico, swine flu came out, and he had to stay home, there could not be classes and he couldn't even go to church .... luckily now the situation returned to normal, even if that influence is still around.
On thursday, April 16th, in the afternoon, Elena came to our house and together we went to Bennet (shopping mall where Xavier works). Then in the evening we watched a movie together. I like to spend time with my friend; Elodie knows her very well now, so when she comes, Elodie is always around her!On saturday 18th, and Sunday April 19th we had the Rimini District Conference. The Saturday after the first session of the conference, with the young women and leaders we had the last rehersal of the hymn "Walk by faith" that we sang on Sunday morning. We were not all there for various reasons but we did quite well anyway! Needless to say that the conference was very beautiful, a great recharging for another week or even a month. On Sunday as well as my uncle there were also my aunt and my cousins, but they didn't stay long after the conference because they had stuff to do. Some of the things that touched me during this conference were:
to show our faith with our actions, serving in our church callings, so that it can grow. We should serve with our hearts, because every time we serve in a calling we are prepared to do something else, not something more important, but something else. We were also asked to pray unceasingly for the temple in Rome, so that everything can go well for its construction, and also pray for the Rome stake, which is also facing a great difficulty (helping families affected by the earthquake). In the early afternoon at the church in Rimini, we had (the leaders of the district) the district council. Finally we arrived home around 5 pm!! And we went to my parent's house. Elodie was so happy to be a little with grandma! During conference she was very good! She was quiet, and she allowed us to listen to a good part of the conference!

And finally, Saturday April 25th arrived. In Italy is a national holiday so Xavier was not working. The young men Presidency of the district has organized an activity for them and invited the young women as well. In the beginning I didn't really want to go, but since no one would have been with Gloria, I went, and Xavier and Elodie came with me as well. The activity consisted in visiting the dam Ridracoli, hiking for a few kilometers and then visit the museum of the water. We were a pretty big group, because there were members who were not supposed to come at the activity... We have never been to Ridracoli and it is just an hour away from Forlimpopoli! We had to meet all in Forlimpopoli and then go there together (by car). It's very beautiful up there and we were lucky to have a good weather, because the days before and the day after it rained! The hike was hard, especially because I don't exercise much: i should do that hike every day so I can loose these extra kilos!! =)

Elodie also liked the hike and the place a lot, it wasn't that hard for her: Xavier brought her with a sort of baby sling on his back! In certain moments I would have like to be in her place! We will go back there for sure this summer whith Xavier's family!
Around 5 pm we were already in Forlì! We took Gloria home and then we went to my parents home, just to say hi. We were completely dead ........ except for Elodie!

On Sunday April 26th I was again visiting the Young Women class. Xavier had to work only in the morning but then they made him work the whole day... He was very angry about this. So after church meetings instead of going home I went to my parents home, Elodie was obviously happy to be with her grandma! In the evening we went home pretty early, Xavier came out from work at 7 pm . Once we were all home we talked, using Skype, for the last time with Adam, because the first of May he left for his mission!

On monday, April 27th Elodie made another step to get closer to 2 years ... she turned 23 months old! In the morning I had a meeting with Sabrina because we have to plan everything for girls camp in July. It's the first time for the both of us doing it, there are many things to think of and consider in planning a girls camp... with Xavier, in the afternoon, we went to Forlì because we had several things to do, and things to pay and we also took the chance to go to the library where we have some discount to buy a couple of books! I bought a book that should help me to do some exercise... I started to read it, now I have to apply it...!! I have to win the laziness that keeps "persecuting" me since I was pregnant!

Now, there are 4 missionaries in Forlì! A new companioship arrived and one of them is "fresh fresh" from the US! Ihas been a long time since last time we had 4 missionaries! The new companionship came to our house on wednesday April 29th to get to know us a little and they gave us a reading schedule for the Book of Mormon. In the morning I made a lemon cake... It didn't look very well but for me it was good! Instead, the first day of May we had the other companionship for lunch. Finally there was the sun and it was also hot! Xavier has cooked stuffed vegetables... very good! We ate outside, in the garden of the house. It was the first time! So we used the table that we bought not long ago for the first time as well. We also bought a spray against mosquitoes (including and especially tiger-mosquitos, here there are many and are worst than the normal ones) so this summer we can enjoy more of our small garden!
On sunday, May 3rd I did the lesson in Young Women because Mila went to a stage of Karate.... So I had 2 lessons: YW and Sunday School! Luckily I didn't have to do a talk too! But being the first sunday of the month, I shared my testimony. =) My mom came to our home to help me, since we had to prepare everything to leave for the temple. So she played with Elodie who, needless to say, was soooooooooo happy!
Thanks mom for your help!!!!!!!!! On monday, May 4th we left around 5:45 am to go to the temple!!!!!!!! It has been a wonderful week: I bought my temple dress! To attend the temple sessions Xavier and I had to alternate each other so that one of us could stay with Elodie. Then on thursday we managed to do a session together: Elodie stayed with the Loberto family that we got to know during that week. They are very good and nice, they live really close to the Corvasce family and they have two children: Lorenzo of 5 years old (I think) and Natalia of 2 and a half years old! Elodie has a new friend! During the week we went to visit a french couple, temple missionaries, that Xavier knows and to whom his family left two boxes for us with clothes and several other things especially for Elodie. Inside one of the boxes there was a Teletubbies: Elodie didn't leave it for a second! (she loves the Teletubbies!) We also went to visit the president of the temple and his wife, who is pres. Castellani. We already knew him (his sister is a member of the Forlì branch) and it was nice to spend a little time with them. Until Wednesday night there were not many people in the hostel, but then it was full: almost the whole ward of Pavia came for the temple wedding of a young couple. There were lots of children! I met a sister who's name is Erika (with k!), she looks so much alike Paulina ... It's cool because she is from Ecuador and she was cheerful and full of energy like Paulina! Justthat she has three daughters and is married to an italian man who served the mission in Forlì (even if it was for a very short time)! She reminded me how much I miss Paulina... I miss and love you sooooo much Paulina!!!!!!!!!
We left from the Swiss temple last Friday and we got home in the night. Elodie does no longer sleep much in the car... good times are finished!! But she was good enough, we can't complain. It's kind of sad to leave the temple and go back to the "world", but we are back with a stronger recharge and we feel more rested! Although I got a strong cold and Elodie a little bit as well. We are back in the heat! In Switzerland, at the beginning of the week it was almost cold, but then the heat arrived there too, but not as much as here in Forlì! It's not nice to have a cold when it is hot!!!!!!! When we got home, we also had a nice surprise: we found a letter from Adam or elder Raveau! So on sunday we wrote him back and Elodie did draw something for him! =)

On Sunday May 10th, it was Mother's Day !!!!! And at the end of the church meetings each mother and future mother received a rose and a chocolate from the "men" of the branch! We also ate all together; afterwards as sisters we had the visiting teaching training.

On monday, May 11th we went back to everyday life but with a little more energy and enthusiasm. In the afternoon the missionaries showed up (the new companionship) just to visit with us a little. On tuesday, May 12th, in the evening, Elodie and I met with Elena at the biggest park in Forlì. We haven't seen each other for almost a month! We walked a little (Elodie likes walking a lot!) And then we ate a piadina (Elodie ate almost her whole piadina!) I love so much that park...

On thursday, May 14th, in the morning I went to the dentist... I had a little but deep caries and still now my tooth is hurting... = ( The dentist took off a caries but also took a lot of money! Perhaps I should be a dentist...!! =) In the afternoon my mother came to stay with Elodie because I had to go to the youth leadership training meeting made by the second counselor of the mission. While waiting for my mother to get here, my dad's cousin and aunt came here to visit us, aunt Paola brought some clothes for Elodie. I left to go to Rimini when my mom came; when I came back, I noticed that Secondo (my dad's cousin) cleaned the garden from all the weeds and aunt Paola swept the floor! Soo nice! About the training in Rimini, it was interesting, pres. Polelli (which is also my uncle!) did it. There are so many things we can do to improve, it's incredible! We never end to learn!

On friday May 15th, we had again the missionaries for lunch, but this time the new companionship. We cooked something "fresh", even if that day was not that hot...!! And then strawberries with whipped cream .... soooooooo good!
Even this Sunday, I had to do the lesson in Young Women as Mila was not there; we talked about temple marriage. Gloria was very impressed by this lesson ... and I realized even more how grateful I am for having the blessing to be married for time and eternity and for the sacred covenants I made with my husband and the Lord in the temple. I need to do my best to live worthy everyday!!!!!! And I am especially grateful to have a husband so special who has so much patience with me! =)
It 'amazing how many things can happen in such a short time, when a week ends, it seems that not much happened, but then when I find myself writing about what happened in a month ... wow, there really are so many things! Or am I that I want to tell and write too much?... Must be that as well! =)
Today, Xavier was released earlier from work to take the train to Milan to do a job interview (for this area I believe...... ) Let's hope that this is the good chance to change his job!!!!!!!!!!!!
