Le feste sono finite *** Holidays are over

Che tristezza dover togliere tutte le decorazioni di Natale... E' più bello quando si mettono. Poi fuori non ci sono più quelle belle luci... Bisogna aspettare un altro anno per vederle di nuovo e chissà intanto quante cose succederanno! Non abbiamo ancora molte decorazioni per Natale ma abbiamo tre presepi!! Ah, poi il 6 gennaio è passata la Befana; è passata per Xavier =) e per Elodie e per Elodie è passata anche da casa dei miei! Arielino è venuto a casa nostra così non sono stata sola quel giorno perchè Xavier aveva l'inventario al Bennet così ha lavorato tutto il giorno... Mamma mia in quest'ultimo periodo ha lavorato davvero un sacco!

So sad to remove all the Christmas decorations... I prefer to put them on. Even outside there are no more those beautiful lights ... We must wait another year to see them again and who knows how many things will happen meantime! We don't have many Christmas decorations yet, but we have three nativity set! Ah, on January 6th the Befana came to bring something for Xavier =) and Elodie she received also something from the Befana who passed from my parents home! Arielino came to our house so I was not alone that day, because Xavier had the inventory at his work (Bennet) so he worked all day ... Mamma mia in this period he has been working really a lot!

Quest'anno è passata la befana anche per Elodie!! Questa è quella della nonna...

This year the Befana brought something to Elodie too!! This was the one from grandma...

E come tutti gli anni è arrivato anche questa volta il 29 dicembre, cioè il giorno più bello dell'anno.... il mio compleanno!!! E così adesso ho 26 anni...... mamma mia!! Xavier mi ha sorpreso perchè mi ha regalato un bellissimo mazzo di fiori! E' mooooolto raro che lui regali dei fiori così sono stata super felice! Grazie Cp, Je t'aime!!! E poi anche Elodie mi ha regalato un fiore!!!! =) Che carina! Non ho fatto niente di particolare durante la giornata, ma la sera dopo aver lasciato Elodie con i nonni, Xavier Ariele e io siamo andati a mangiare per la prima volta al ristorante giapponese!! Era da un sacco che ci volevo andare ma poi per un motivo o per un altro non sono andata.... Comunque è davvero mooolto buono! E' stato interessante e divertente perchè abbiamo dovuto mangiare tutto "alla giapponese" perchè non c'erano coltello e forchetta! Ariele si chiedeva se quei giapponesi fossero "veri" o se in realtà fossero dei cinesi... =) Proprio una bella serata!! Una cosa che mi ha fatto molto felice in particolare è stato ricevere gli auguri e poi anhce il messaggio sul cellulare dalla mia fantastica amica Krystal! Ancora una volta sei la migliore!! Grazie!!!!

Per l'ultimo dell'anno, dopo che Xavier è uscito dal lavoro (verso le 20.00) siamo andati a casa della famiglia Moss!! Elodie all'inizio naturalmente è rimasta con il suo amico Gabriel a guardare la televisione; mentre noi genitori (che strano dire così solo poco tempo fa' io ero "la figlia...") abbiamo mangiato un po' di cibo messicano/americano. Noi avevamo portato il panettone salato farcito e un dolce che alla fine abbiamo mangiato il giorno dopo. Così abbiamo parlato e mangiato e passato del tempo insieme. Abbiamo anche giocato a un gioco molto divertente in cui si doveva usare anche un po' di creatività! A mezzanotte..... BUON ANNO!!!! dopo un brindisi abbiamo guardato i fuochi d'artificio lontani ma comunque belli e poi a nanna!!! Elodie è rimasta sveglia anche lei ad aspettare l'anno nuovo...

Mi sembra sempre così strano quando finisce un anno... mi viene un po' di tristezza pensare che sia qualcosa che non torna più e soprattutto pensare che avrei potuto fare molto di più, ma poi sono felice pensando che uno nuovo comincia e ci sono tante cose da scoprire e da fare!! Però è sempre così all'inizio dell'anno sono sempre tutta piena di buoni propositi per migliorare ma poi..... l'entusiasmo si spegne un po' mentre passa l'anno... Ce la farò quest'anno a raggiungere i miei obiettivi? Certo dipende da me!! Allora al lavoro!!

Tornando indietro, abbiamo dormito a casa della famiglia Moss e il mattino dopo abbiamio mangiato una bella colazione all'americana, con le uova fatte da Eli, i rolls.... Uhmmmmm Troppo buono!!!! Siamo stati insieme a loro fino al pomeriggio... Quando si sta bene insieme il tempo passa sempre più veloce! Sono una bella famiglia e voglio loro tanto bene, in particolare Rebekah, è un grande esempio per me, di forza, di vitalità... e di "madre"!! Grazie Rebekah!!!

I giorni successivi Elodie e io siamo state abbastanza malate, con tosse, mal di gola e raffreddore, tanto per cominciare bene l'anno! Speriamo però di non essere malate tutto l'anno =)

Il giorno prima della befana cioè il 5 gennaio, sono venuti i miei zii e cugini da Modena!! Purtroppo Xavier lavorava tutto il giorno così non li ha potuti vedere... Ma io sìììì!!!! Che cattiva che sono!

Martina probabilmente mi ucciderà per la foto che ho messo..... però è troppo forte!!!!! =) E' stata brava perchè si è ricordata di riportarmi un cd da lungo tempo atteso, ancora grazie grazie!! (sorgi e splendi ma non sei figlia di un re!!! siamo proprio gineQ!!)

Adesso poi che Daniela è nelle Giovani Donne del suo rione ci scambiamo sempre tante belle cosine e ideuzze! Grazie grazie!!!

Mio babbo aveva cucinato le lasagne e poi la sera ha anche fatto le piadine!!! Che buoooooooone!!! Certo che mi sto rendendo conto che in queste feste ho mangiato davvero tanto ma soprattutto mooooolto bene!!!!

And like every year December 29th arrived again, that is the most beautiful day of the year.... It's my birthday! And so now I am 26 years old ...... mamma mia! Xavier surprised me because it gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers! It's reeeeally uncommon for him to give me flowers that's why I was super happy! Thank Cp, je t'aime!! Elodie also gave me a flower! =) So cute! I have done nothing particular during the day but at night after leaving Elodie with her grandparents, Xavier Ariele and I went to eat for the first time at the Japanese restaurant! For a long time I had the desire to go there but then for one reason or another it never happend.... However the food was reeeeeeeally good!It was interesting and fun at the same time, because we had to eat everything like japanese do because there was no knife and fork! Ariele wondered if those Japanese were "real" or if they were Chinese ... =) Just a awesome evening! Something that made me really happy was also the birthday wishes and the text message from my great wonderful friend Krystal!!! Again, you are the best!!! Thanks!!!!!For the last day of the year, after Xavier was released from work (around 8 pm) we went to the Moss's home! Elodie remained with her friend Gabriel watching television, while us, parents (It's so strange to say that, not long time ago I was "the daughter ...") we ate some Mexican / American food. We brought the salty stuffed panettone and a dessert that we have eaten the next day. So we talked and ate and spent time together. We also played a very fun game where you had to be a little "creative"! At midnight ..... HAPPY NEW YEAR! After a toast we watched the fireworks at the window but beautiful anyway, and then to sleep! Elodie remained awake to wait for the new year ... It always seem so strange to me when a year ends ... I am a little sad thinking that is something that does not return, and most especially to think that I could do much more, but then I'm happy thinking that a new year is beginning and there are many things to discover and do! But it always happen that at the beginning of a year I'm full of good intentions to improve but then ..... the enthusiasm goes off a little during the year ... Will I reach my goals this year? Of course depends on me! So... at work! We slept at the Moss family's home and in the morning we ate a nice american breakfast, with eggs made by Eli, the rolls .... Uhmmmmm Soooo good! We were with them until the afternoon ... When you are spending good times, it seems time goes faster! They are a beautiful family and I love them, especially Rebekah, she's a great example to me, of strength, vitality ... and of being a "mother"! Thanks Rebekah!

The next days Elodie and I have been quite sick with cough, sore throat and cold, just to start very well the year! But we hope not to be sick all year =) The day before the befana, January 5th, my uncles and cousins came from Modena! Unfortunately Xavier worked all day so he could not see them... But I did!! I am so bad!! Martina would probably kill me for putting this pictures ..... But it is too funny!!!!! =) She was good because she remembered to bring me a so-long-awaited cd, thanks, thanks! (Arise and shine forh, but you're not a daughter of a king! We are crazy cousins!) Now that Daniela is in the Young Women of her ward we always exchange many cool things and ideas ! Thanks, thanks! My dad cooked lasagne and then in the evening he cooked also the piadine! Soooooooooo good! I'm realizing that in these holidays I ate a lot of food but especially really good food!

Allora, ero arrivata al 27 dicembre, giorno in cui Elodie ha fatto 19 mesi! Per tradizione ad ogni mese le facciamo una foto (in realtà molte, ma poi ne scegliamo una come foto del mese) e così ecco la foto!

So, I came to December 27, when Elodie turned 19 months! Traditionally every month, we take a picture of her (actually many, but then we choose a picture of the month), and so here's the picture!

La domenica 28 invece dopo le riunioni in chiesa quasi tutti sono andati fuori a fare a pallate di neve!! Era nevicato! Elodie così ha visto e camminato per la prima volta sulla neve! All'inizio aveva paura ma poi non voleva più venire a casa!!! Qua a Forlì non nevica spesso così quando c'è la neve è come un grande evento!

On Sunday the 28th, after church meetings almost everyone went outside for a snowballs war!! It's snowed!! That was the first time for Elodie to see and walk in the snow! At first she was afraid but then she didn't want to come home! Here in Forlì it's not snowing very often and so when there is snow it is like a big event!

Dall'ultima volta che ho scritto sono successe tante cose! E' passato Natale, il mio compleanno, l'ultimo dell'anno, la befana, è iniziato il 2009, è nevicato, Elodie ha fatto 19 mesi...

Ma cercherò di andare con ordine: la vigilia di Natale Elodie e io mentre papà era ancora al lavoro siamo andate a trovare la signora che abita sopra di noi (che è anche la mamma della proprietaria!) E' una signora anziana ed è stata mooolto contenta della nostra visita, e Elodie anche se all'inizio aveva paura poi si è ambientata benissimo e si è divertita con il cane, ha anche cercato di mangiare i biscotti del cane! La sera sono venuti i miei genitori e mio fratello per la cena. E' stata una cena alla francese: Abbiamo mangiato la raclette (un tipo di formaggio) con le patate, vari tipi affettato e come antipasto c'era il salmone e le uova di lompo. Era buonissimo! E questa cosa di mangiare la raclette la vigilia di Natale pensiamo che diventerà una tradizione. Elodie ha mangiato con noi e non sembrava per niente stanca, è rimasta sveglia fino a poco dopo mezzanotte! Ma poi la mattina dopo ha dormito fino quasi le 11! Si vede proprio che ancora non si rende conto che quella notte passa Babbo Natale... !!

Since I have written last time so many things happened! Christmas, my birthday, the end of the year, the Befana, 2009 began, it snowed, Elodie turned 19 months .... But I'll try to go in order: On Christmas Eve, while dad was still at work, Elodie and I went to visit the lady who lives upstairs (she's the mother of the house owner) She's an old lady and she was so happy of our visit, and although Elodie was scared at first, then she was well set and had fun with dog, she also tried to eat the dog cookies! In the evening my parents and my brother came for dinner. It was a French dinner: We ate raclette (a type of cheese) with potatoes, various types of ham and as appetizer we ate salmon and lumpfish roe caviar. It was delicious! We think it will become a tradition! Elodie atewith us and did not seem tired at all, she was awake until shortly after midnight! But then the next morning she slept until almost 11! She still does not realize that night Santa Claus came... !!

Questo è stato il primo Natale a casa nostra! La mattina di Natale è stato bello vedere Elodie che apriva i regali! Ad ogni regalo faceva: "Wuuuuuuu" ma la cosa che la interessava di più era la cioccolata!! Xavier quella mattina ha anche preparato i salatini da portare per il pranzo di Natale a casa di mio nonno. Erano davvero buoni! Xavier è bravo a cucinare! Sono fortunata! Lui mi ha regalato un cellulare nuovo perchè quello che avevo stava morendo... E' bellissimo perchè viola!!! Invece lui ha ricevuto del torrone al pistacchio e alla nutella, un pigiama e un quadernone ad anelle per sistemare le sue cose! Ne è stato molto contento in particolare del torrone.. chissà perchè!! Dopo esserci preparati siamo andati a casa di mio nonno a mangiare come da tradizione i tortelli! Mio babbo è bravissimo a farli come li faceva mia nonna! A mangiare c'erano anche Maurice e Gloria, i missionari e Amalia.
Dopo il bel pranzo ci siamo scambiati i regali. Nel pomeriggio i missionari sono andati a chiamare le loro famiglie da casa dei miei e Ariele è rimasto con loro mentre noi siamo rimasti da mio nonno a pulire e tenergli compagnia.. La sera eravamo tutti distrutti così siamo andati a letto abbastanza presto! =)
Il 26 dicembre siamo rimasti a casa mangiando gli avanzi e guardando insieme il nuovo DvD che avevamo preso per la famiglia: Trilli! Nel tardo pomeriggio invece siamo andati al cinema (Elodie è rimasta con i nonni) con Ariele, Monica, Mila, Renata, Alessandro e suo fratello a vedere "Ember"... Mi è piaciuto! Non andiamo spesso al cinema, così è stato divertente fare qualcosa di diverso.

This was the first Christmas in our home! On Christmas morning was good to watch Elodie opening presents! For each present she was: "Wuuuuuuu", but the thing she was more interested in was chocolate! That morning Xavier also prepared snacks for the Christmas lunch at the home of my grandfather. They were really good! Xavier is good at cooking! I am lucky! He gave me a new cell phone because mine was dying... I love it because it's purple! He received a pistachio and Nutella torrone, a pajamas and a note-book with rings for his stuff! He was very happy for those presents in particular for the torrone... I wonder why!! After getting ready, we went to my grandfather's home to eat as usual tortelli! My dad is great to make them as my grandmother did! There were also Maurice and Gloria, the missionaries and Amalia.
After the awesome lunch we exchanged gifts. In the afternoon, the missionaries went to call their families at my parent's home with Ariele while we remained with my grandpa, also for cleaning... In the evening we were all so tired, so we went to bed pretty early! =)
On December 26th we were at home eating leftovers and watching the new DVD that we bought for the family: Tinkerbell! In the late afternoon instead, we went to the cinema (Elodie remained with her grandparents) with Ariele, Monica, Mila, Renata, Alessandro and his brother to watch "Ember" ... I liked it! We do not go often to the movies, so it was fun to do something different.
