Cambiamenti *** Changes

Sono di nuovo qui!! Sempre di corsa e tantissssimo indietro nel raccontare le "mie avventure"..
Come ho detto in precedenza, questo è un anno di cambiamenti (almeno fino ad ora)! Alcuni di questi cambiamenti sono iniziati l'anno scorso, come il fatto che improvvisamente la mia amica Elena, ha iniziato a seguire le lezioni dei missionari e a venire in Chiesa. Ci sono tante difficoltà per via della famiglia, ma tutto è possibile per il Signore. Mi piace andare alle lezioni che le fanno i missionari, mi piace poter sentire lo Spirito insieme a lei e poi sono contenta perchè oltre tutto questo ci permette di vederci più spesso, cosa che non sarebbe possibile altrimenti! Le voglio tanto bene e sono sicura che la decisione che prenderà e quando la prenderà sarà la migliore e il momento giusto per lei. Tutta questa situazione mi ha fatto molto pensare al lavoro missionario, alla conversione, al potere dello Spirito di cambiare le persone, al Libro di Mormon e a quante cose io dia per scontate e non dovrei...
Un'altra novità/cambiamento di quest'anno, direi forse anche il primo di tutti è avvenuto il 17 gennaio. Abbiamo avuto la conferenza di ramo e il presidente Moss è stato rilasciato. Al suo posto è stato chiamato presidente Dago (che prima andava a Rimini con la sua famiglia). Xavier e Ariele sono stati chiamati come suoi consiglieri. Mila è stata rilasciata dalle Giovani Donne e per un po' di tempo non è stata chiamata nessun'altra.. Poi sono stata chiamata io nel mese di febbraio. Così adesso sono la pres. delle Giovani Donne di distretto e di ramo! Quanto lavoro da fare mamma mia!! Soprattutto perchè prima nel ramo non è stato fatto niente... Così è stato proprio come iniziare da zero. Le giovani donne sono 2, ma poi sono riuscita a coinvolgere alla AMM anche un'altra ragazza. I suoi genitori sono membri inattivi, lei non è battezzata. All'inizio non sembrava molto interessata, mentre ora le piace e fa anche domande, oltre a voler venire anche la domenica (anche se ancora non si è vista... bo! chissà...!). Non è stato facile partire organizzando tutte le attività da sola, ma dopo essere stata messa a parte (perchè prima mi era stato chiesto di occuparmene senza essere stata ancora chiamata), è stato più semplice e sto sentendo veramente l'aiuto del Signore in tutto quello che faccio e ne ho mooolto bisogno. Questa chiamata nelle Giovani Donne mi sta aiutando ad aumentare la mia pazienza e il mio amore per gli altri, oltre alla comprensione e alla capacità di rivolgermi al Signore per chiederGli aiuto e di benedire queste ragazze... Spero che un giorno anche loro possano provare quanto sia bello servire il Signore!
Così a proposito delle Giovani Donne, ma questa volta del Distretto, a novembre dovevamo fare un musical tutto fatto da noi basato sulla storia delle 10 vergini contenuta nella Bibbia ma "arrangiata" ma Emily Freeman. Io ho tradotto il libro, poi le ragazze nei rami hanno scelto quale vergine volevano essere, hanno fatto le rispettive lampade, poi i propri vestiti (con l'aiuto di Concetta di Rimini che fa la costumista) e per questo noi di Forlì siamo andate a Rimini per farli tutte insieme. Le ragazze hanno fatto anche le scenografie e Costanza Rossi ha scritto le parole delle canzoni. La cosa che ci mancava era la musica. Avevamo trovato qualcuno che poteva metterci la musica ma.... alla fine ci ha abbandonato! =( Così il musical non l'abbiamo potuto fare nè a novembre, nè a maggio... Adesso le cose le ha in mano Pietro e con lui siamo sicuri che ce la faremo! Quindi vedremo se questo novembre riusciremo a presentare questo spettacolo! Penso che sia stata e sarà una bella esperienza per le ragazze, almeno per me lo è assolutamente! Avessi avuto io la possibilità di fare queste cose quando ero una GD!!! A novembre, al posto del musical, come attività ne abbiamo fatta una sul Progresso personale con anche i genitori e le dirigenti. Per presentare meglio questo programma e farlo partire dove ancora era inesistente. Una attività semplice ma efficace nella quale abbiamo guardato anche questo video che riassume un po' ciò che hanno fatto le GD nel 2009...

Un altro cambiamento è stata la partenza della famiglia Moss... Sono tornati in America a gennaio, dopo tre anni qua con noi... Sono stati tre anni veloci, mamma mia! E' stato bello conoscerli e ne sono molto grata perchè per me sono un grande esempio di come desidero che anche la mia famiglia sia. Rebekah ti voglio tanto bene!! Non sono molto brava perchè nonostante mi manchino ecc, ancora non ho scritto loro... (sì Erica vergognati!) ma spero stiano leggendo questo e sappiano che comunque sono sempre nel nostro cuore!! Non vedo l'ora di poterli rivedere e mi mancano già tutte le cose che abbiamo fatto insieme e il loro sorriso..!! Ma è bello avere amici speciali anche se lontani. =) Grazie grazie grazie famiglia Moss!!! Non lo dirò mai abbastanza!!!!




E' stato anche un inverno particolare perchè abbiamo avuto tanta tanta neve anche qua a Forlì dove di solito nevica una volta e basta. Questa volta invece è nevicato più volte e diverse volte ha anche gelato... Ha fatto un gran freddo! Era da tanto (che io mi ricordi) che non faceva un tempo del genere. Quando ero piccola non vedevo l'ora che nevicasse, adesso sì mi piaceva vedere la neve e il paesaggio tutto bianco e "sentire" il silenzio di quando nevica.. ma... mi ha impedito di uscire o di fare le cose che dovevo diverse volte!! Sarà che sto diventando grande?!?! =)

C'è stata anche una domenica mattina che Xavier era al lavoro, con me c'erano Elena ed Elodie (ovviamente!) e dovevo andare a prendere Alaba per andare in chiesa, ma la macchina è rimasta bloccata metà dentro e metà fuori dal cancello: non riuscivo più a spostarla a causa della neve e del ghiaccio! Un passante vedendomi in difficoltà ha provato a spingere, ma niente da fare.. poi è arrivato per caso il proprietario di casa nostra che salendo al mio posto e spingendo e spingendo è riuscito a sbloccarla!!! Mamma mia! Siamo arrivate abbastanza tardi in chiesa ma ce l'abbiamo fatta!!


I am here again!! Always on a hurry and far behind telling about "my adventures"..
As I said before, this is a year of changes (at least so far)! Some of these changes began last year, like the fact that suddenly my good friend Elena, started to take the missionary lessons and to come to Church. There are many difficulties because of hr family, but everything is possible for the Lord. I love attend those lessons with her and the missionaries, I like to feel the Spirit with her and I'm happy because besides all this we can see each other more often, which could not be possible otherwise! I love her so much and I am sure the decision she will take and when she takes it, it will be the best and the right time for her. This whole situation made me think a lot about missionary work, conversion, the power of the Spirit to change people, the Book of Mormon and how many things I take for granted and I shouldn't...
Another news/change this year, I would say maybe the first one, took place on January 17th. We had branch conference and President Moss was released. In his place was called president Dago (before that he attendes the Rimini branch with his family). Xavier and Ariele were called as his counselors. Mila was released as the Young Women president and for a little while no one has been called at her place... Until I was called in February. So now I'm the Young Women pres. of the district and the branch! There is sooo much to do mamma mia! Especially because before nothing has been done in the branch... So it was like starting over. There are two young women, but then I managed to involve another girl to the weekly mutual activity. Her parents are inactive members, she's not baptized. At first she didn't look very interested, but now she likes it and asks questions about the Church, she wants to come on Sundays as well (although I haven't seen her yet... bo! Who knows... !). At the beginning it wasn't easy organizing all the activities alone, but once I got set apart (because before I've been asked to take care of young women without actually being set apart), it became easier and I'm really feeling the Lord's help in eerything I do and I need it sooo much. This calling in Young Women is helping me to increase my patience and my love for others, my understanding torwards others and my ability to turn to God for help and ask Him to bless these girls... I hope that one day they will be able to experience how wonderful is to serve the Lord as well!

So about Young women, but this time about my calling in the district, last November we had to do a musical all made by us based on the story of the 10 virgins in the Bible, but "arranged" by Emily Freeman. I translated the book and then each girl has chosen the virgin they wanted to represent, they made their own lamps, and their own clothes (with the precious help of Concetta from Rimini, her job is making costumes), from Forlì e also went to Rimini to do this all together. The girls also drew the sets and Costanza Rossi wrote the lyrics. The missing thing was the music. We found someone who could write the music but.... finally he gave up! =( So we haven't been able to perform the musical either last November, nor in May.. now the music is in the hands of Pietro and we are confident that he will finish to write the music! So we'll see if we are able next November to perform this musical! I think it is and will be a great experience for the girls, at least it is for me! I wish I could had have the opportunity to do these kind of things when I was a YW! Last November instead of the musical we had an activity about Personal Progress for all the girls, their family and their leaders, to better present this program and start it where it wasn't existing. A simple but effective activity in which we also watched this video which sums up a bit what the YW did in 2009...

Another change was the departure of the Moss family... They went back to America last January after being three years here with us... These 3 years went by so fast, mamma mia! It has been great to know them and I am very grateful to them because they are a huge example of how I want my family to be. Rebekah, I love you so much! I'm not good because despite missing them I haven't written them yet... (Yes, Erica shame on you!) But I hope they are reading this and know that they are always in our hearts and prayers! I can't wait to see them again and I already miss all the things we did together, especially their smiles..! But it is onderful to have special friends even if they are far away. =) Thanks thanks thanks Moss family! I won't never say it enough!!


It was also a particularly cold winter, because we had a lot of snow also here in Forlì, where usually it snows one day and that's it. This time it snowed several times and we had a lot of ice in the streets... It was really cold! We didn't have a similar winter (that I can remember) for a very long time. When I was younger I looked forward to snow, but now... yes, I like to see the snow and the landscape all white and "hear" the silence when it snows.. but... this time it kept me from going out or do things I needed to do! Maybe I'm getting older?!?! =)


One Sunday morning Xavier was at work; Elena and Elodie (obviously!) were with me in the car and I had to go get Alaba to go to church, but the car got stuck half in and half out of the gate of my home: I couldn't move it because of the snow and the ice! A guy saw me in trouble and tried to push, but nothing to do.. then came by chance the owner of our house who drove atmy place and after pushing a lot he managed to move the car! Mamma mia! We got quite late to church but we made it! =p

Buon Anno!!!! *** Happy New Year!!!!

E' già finito l'anno.... mamma mia!!! Mi ritrovo sempre alla fine dell'anno a dire e pensare le stesse cose: com'è passato in fretta.. quante cose sono successe... quante sono cambiate.. i miei obiettivi... a proposito quali erano?? =p Oppure cose come: ah, il prossio anno farò... il prossimo anno mi impegnerò di più... ecc ecc... Comunque è vero che questo è un periodo di balanci e valutazioni e per me è sempre strano dire "addio" al vecchio anno, ma ne è iniziato uno nuovo e quindi torno felice!! Sono strana!! Ma questo lo sapevo già..

Comunque anche quest'anno Xavier ha dovuto chiudere al lavoro e dopo siamo andati dalla famiglia Moss. Di diverso però c'era che è venuta anche Elena e lì da loro c'era già anche Gloria.

E' stata una serata semplice ma bella: come sempre le cose semplici sono le più belle! Abbiamo mangiato, giocato insieme, chiaccherato, riso, e brindato a mezzanotte con un succo americano! Abbiamo dormito tutti da loro e il giorno dopo siamo rimasti fin dopo pranzo! E' difficile andare via quando ci si trova bene.. e poi pensare che sarebbe stata l'ultima volta perchè alla fine di gennaio la famiglia Moss tornerà a casa sua negli USA... che tristezza (per noi..) i tre anni che sono stati qui sono volati e sicuramente ci mancheranno tanto, perchè vogliamo loro tanto tanto bene!! Ma adesso abbiamo un altro posto dove andare negli USA. =) hehehe!!

Comunque il primo dell'anno, quando siamo tornati a casa, Elena è andata alla sua e Xavier ed Elodie sono andati a riposare (veramente Elodie si è addormentata in macchina). E verso le 20 siamo andati a casa della famiglia Montanari: quanto tempo che non avevamo visto Elena, mamma mia!!! Sono venuti anche i miei (Ariele stava tornando dalla conferenza GANS quindi non è venuto e Laura era via anche). Abbiamo mangiato la pizza: in due giorni ho mangiato davvero tante cose buone! E dopo un un sacco di tempo abbiamo passato una bella serata insieme come ai vecchi tempi, quando noi eravamo piccoli!! (anche se Xavier ed Elodie non c'erano). Elodie è stata contenta anche perchè hanno un gattino e Elena l'ha portato di sopra, così Elodie ci ha giocato. Le piacciono tanto gli animali (in genere da lontano, ma questo era piccolino bellino bellino, quindi non aveva paura). E così è passato anche il primo dell'anno... peccato che il 2 Xavier dovesse lavorare... Ma un anno nuovo è iniziato e l'ho battezzato come l'anno dei cambiamenti.... vedremo cosa succederà! Sicuramente molte cose cambieranno...

Ma... BUON ANNO A TUTTI!!!! Siamo noi a renderlo un buon anno quindi DIAMOCI DA FARE =)

The year is already over.... Mamma mia! At the end of each year I always find myself saying and thinking the same things: wow it went fast.. many things have happened... many things has changed.. my goals... mmm.. what were they?? =p Or things like, oh, next year I will... next year I will improve... etc etc ...Anyway, it is true that this is a time of outcomes and consideration and for me it's always weird to "say goodbye" to the old year, but a new one starts and I'm happy again! I know, I'm weird! But I knew that already..

Ok, so, even this year, Xavier had to close the supermarket and once he came home we went to the Moss's. But something was different from last year Elena came with us and Gloria was already there.

It was a simple but beautiful evening: as always simple things are the best! We ate, played together, chatted, laughed, and did a toast at midnight with an american juice! We all slept at their house and we stayed with them until after lunch! It's hard to leave when you are having a good time.. It was hard also because we knew that was the last time we would visit them because at the end of January, the Moss family will go back to the USA... how sad (for us ..) three years they spent here went by sooo fast... and certainly we will miss them a lot, because we love them too much! But now we have another place where to stay in the U.S. =) Hehehe!

The first of the year, once we got home Elena went home and Xavier and Elodie went to take a nap (honestly Elodie fell asleep in the car). Around 8pm we went to the Montanari's: mamma mia how long we had not seen Elena! My parents came as well (Ariele was coming back from the YSA conference and Laura wasn't there too). We ate pizza; in the last two-three days I ate very many good things! After a long time we spent a beautiful evening together like in the old times, when we were younger! (Although Xavier and Elodie weren't there back then). Elodie was also happy because they have a kitten and Elena took it upstairs, so Elodie could play with it. She likes all animals (usually from afar, but this was little, cute and pretty, so she wasn't scared). And so the first day of the year is gone... unfortunately Xavier has to work the day after... But a new year has begun and I already said that this seems like a year of changes... we'll see what happens! Certainly many things will change...

But.. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!! We are the one who make it a good year so let's work for it!! =)

Estate al tempio *** Summer at the temple

Una volta partita la famiglia di Xavier, ci siamo prepararti per un'altra grande avventura, l'ultima per quest'estate, e cioè la settimana al tempio con i giovani del distretto, almeno per me sarebbe stata impegnativa, visto che insieme a Sabrina (la mia consigliera) e Massimo Draghi (pres. GU) dovevamo stare loro dietro. All'inizio non pensavamo di riuscire ad organizzarla, per vari motivi, ma poi in qualche modo ce l'abbiamo fatta! Abbiamo fatto qualche riunione tutti insieme su Skype e poi ci siamo trovati là... Devo dire che ero molto meno stressata dell'anno scorso.. anche se questa volta i giovani erano di più infatti c'erano tutti: 6 giovani uomini e 3 giovani donne (Gloria all'ultimo momento si è scoperto che non poteva venire perchè non aveva i documenti per venire in Svizzera, è stato un vero peccato...) Sfruttando i punti deboli dell'organizzazione dell'anno scorso, quest'anno siamo riusciti a fare meglio anche se dobbiamo ancora migliorare.. Abbiamo fatto anche la posta, cioè ogni giovane e dirigente aveva una busta e ci si poteva scrivere, mettendo poi il messaggio nella busta. Non è stata molto sfruttata questa cosa e alcuni l'hanno usata nel modo sbagliato, ma molto era anche che bisognava creare un gruppo, perchè i ragazzi stavano per i fatti loro e le ragazze idem. E' stato bello una mattina poter entrare nel tempio con loro e assistere ai battesimi facendo da aiutante. Per me è stato il momento più bello di tutta la settimana! La mattina i giovani entravano per fare i battesimi e nel pomeriggio abbiamo fatto delle attività. Un giorno era l'attività sportiva, poi un altro un gioco fatto da Massimo, tipo il programma "Reazione a catena" della televisione, e poi una caccia al tesoro mooolto bella fatta da Sabrina e Pietro. Ci sono stati anche due caminetti, uno fatto da Massimo e l'altro dal presidente del tempio, pres. Castellani. Pres. Castellani è una persona molto dolce e calma ed è stato molto interessante perchè ha lasciato che i giovani facessero le domande riguardo al tempio. Al tempio c'erano anche i miei zii con Bakal e Martina! Così sono potuta stare anche con lei! E' sempre la mia salvezza!! E' stato bello che Desireè sia potuta andare al tempio per la prima volta per i battesimi e spero abbia il desiderio di tornarci. Molti sono partiti il venerdì, mentre noi siamo rimasti fino al sabato. Noi siamo andati con i miei e due giovani di Forlì (Desireè e Roberto) erano con noi. Xavier ha aiutato con i battesimi e poi è stato molto anche con Elodie. C'è stata una mattina che dovevo badare oltre a Elodie anche altri 6 bambini!! E' stato divertente..!! In Svizzera per fortuna non faceva così caldo, anzi verso la fine della settimana era quasi freddo! Che sensazione strana dopo quel gran caldo estivo!! Xavier è stato un grande aiuto per me, con Elodie e in generale (grazieeeeee!!!!) e anche senza Sabrina non so come avrei fatto, sono proprio benedetta ad avere una brava consigliera come lei =) Speriamo la prossima volta di riuscire a fare ancora meglio!!

Once Xavier's family left, we got ready for another great adventure, the last one for this summer, that is the temple week with the youth of the district, at least for me it was challenging, since with Sabrina (my counselor) and Massimo Draghi (YM president) had to organize it for the youth. At first, we thought we wouldn't be able to organize it because of several things, but then somehow we did it! We had some meetings together on Skype and then we met directly there in Switzerland... I must say that I was much less stressed out than last year.. although this time the youth were more, they were almost all there: 6 young men and 3 young women (Gloria at the very last moment found out that she couldn't come because he had no documents to come to Switzerland, I was so sad for her...) by using the weaknesses we remarked in the last year organization, this year we did better even if we still have to improve.. We also made the "mail", that is, every young man and young woman and every leader had an envelope and we could write to each other and then putting the message in the envelope. It wasn't used much and some have used it in the wrong way, but one of the problem was that they needed to create a group, because the boys were on their own and the girls as well. It was great, one morning have been asked to go inside the temple with the youth and help while they were doing baptisms. For me it was the best time of the whole week! In the morning the youth went to do baptisms in the afternoon we had the activities. The first day he had a sport activity, then another day a game made by Massimo, kind of like the tv program "chain reaction", and then a treasure hunt soooo well prepared by Sabrina and Pietro. There were also two firesides, one by Maximus and the other one by the temple president, pres. Castellani. Pres Castellani is a very sweet and calm man and his fireside was very interesting, it also asked the youth to ask questions about the temple. That week there were also my uncle and my aunt and two of my cousins: Bakal and Martina! So I could spend some time with her as well! She's always my "salvation"! It was great that Desireè was able to go to the temple for the first time to do baptisms and I hope she will have the desire to go back there soon. Many people left on Friday, while we stayed until Saturday. We traveled with my parents and the two youth from Forlì (Desireè and Roberto) came with us as well. Xavier helped with the baptisms and was a great help also taking care of Elodie. One morning I had to look after to Elodie and other 6 children! It was fun..! Luckily in Switzerland it was not so hot, towards the end of the week was almost cold! That was a weird feeling after that great summer heat! Xavier has been a great help to me, with Elodie, and in general(thank you!!!!!), and even without Sabrina I don't know how I would have done everything that week, I'm just so blessed to have a good counselor like her =) Hopefully next time we'll do even better!

Estate con i Raveau *** Summer with the Raveau family

Quest'estate sono venuti a casa nostra anche i genitori di Xavier con parte dei suoi fratelli e sorelle: Megan, Emilie e Noé. Sono arrivati venerdì 14 agosto. Sono venuti in macchina e siamo riusciti a farli stare tutti in casa nostra. Tre hanno dormito in camera di Elodie e due nella sala, nel divano letto. Non avevamo mai avuto la casa così piena! Denise mi ha portato un sacco di vestiti di diverse misure per Elodie. E poi ci hanno portato diversi regali, soprattutto per Elodie. Lo scambio di regali (se non fosse stato così caldo sembrava Natale) c'è stato una volta che Xavier è tornato a casa dal lavoro. E' incredibile anche come siamo riusciti a stare tutti quanti intorno alla nostra piccola tavola per mangiare! Il 15 agosto, siccome era festa, Xavier non ha lavorato. La mattina siamo stati a casa a riposarci un pochino poi dopo pranzo siamo andati dai miei dove abbiamo trovato l'ex anziano Losee e parte della famiglia Polelli (eccetto Martina che era in vacanza con il suo boyfriend e Samson che è in missione). Chad Losee è passato a trovarci visto che si trovava in Italia per lavoro. Abbiamo fatto un giro fino ai giardini pubblici, tutti insieme (ad un certo punto Chad è dovuto andare via..) quando cominciava ad essere un pochino meno caldo. E' stata una giornata tranquilla. Io ero molto preoccupata del loro arrivo, come avrei gestito tutto, ma come prima giornata è andata abbastanza bene. La domenica siamo andati tutti in chiesa e io sono rimasta con Megan nelle GD (è voluta venire anche Denise). Nel pomeriggio non abbiamo fatto niente di speciale, tutti hanno dormito e poi abbiamo giocato un po' a Skip-Bo che è diventato il gioco del momento! Ci giocavano praticamente sempre! La settimana successiva sia Xavier che io dovevamo lavorare (io solo dalle 6 alle 10) ed è stato molto difficile... Il lunedì dopo che avevo lavorato dovevamo andare al mercato a Forlì.. siamo partiti con due macchine, Megan era con me e Elodie, gli altri erano dietro e in qualche modo si sono persi, così siamo tornate a casa ad aspettarli. Poi sempre prima che Xavier tornasse dal lovoro, i suoi si erano innervositi perchè Elodie non andava da loro ma da Noè, Megan e Emilie sì.. stavano anche per tornarsene a casa ma poi quando è arrivato, Xavier li ha fatti ragionare. Per il resto martedì siamo andati a Ravenna a visitare le chiese e i mosaici. Abbiamo camminato tanto e proprio nelle ore più calde, infatti poi Megan è stata male. C'è da dire che i giorni che sono rimasti qui sono stati i giorni più caldi e umidi di tutta l'estate, veramente insopportabile! Il giovedì sempre una volta tornato a casa Xavier, siamo andati al fiume con i miei. Si stava così bene nell'acqua!! Non sarei mai uscita dall'acqua!! Ariele mi ha quasi affogata =p Anche con loro alla fine non abbiamo fatto tante cose, soprattutto a causa del gran caldo. In teoria dovevano partire dopo 2 settimane ma alla fine sono partiti dopo una e mezzo, cioè il mercoledì 26 agosto per andare a fare un giro in Toscana e poi a Cannes. Il sabato siamo rimasti a casa tutto il giorno a guardare la televisione e cercare di sopravvivere al caldo, e Denise mi ha stirato tutto!! La domenica dopo le riunioni abbiamo fatto diverse foto insieme e il lunedì abbiamo passato la giornata a San Marino. Per fortuna era un po' più mite il clima e ventilato. A San Marino abbiamo mangiato al ristorante, è stata una bella giornata e la sera Pascal ha fatto la cena con il barbecue: mooolto buona! Sono venuti anche i miei per portare il gelato. Abbiamo mangiato fuori. Il giorno dopo ci siamo riposati e il mercoledì mattina molto presto sono partiti. Xavier invece è partito presto per andare a un colloquio di lavoro per il Lidl a Verona. E' stato strano dopo tutti quei giorni avere tutta la casa vuota, solo Elodie e io! C'era un sacco da pulire e mettere a posto, ma in generale è stato interessante averli qua. Ho potuto conoscere meglio Megan, che è troppo simpatica e anche Emilie. Chissà quando li rivedremo...!


This summer Xavier's parents with some of his brothers and sisters-Megan, Emilie and Noé- came to visit us. They arrived on Friday, August 14th. They came by car and somehow the stayed all in our home. Three of them slept in Elodie's bedroom and the other two in the living room, in the davenport. We have never had the house so full! Denise gave me a lot of clothes of different sizes for Elodie. They also gave us many gifts, especially for Elodie. Once Xavier got home from work we exchanged presents (if it wasn't so hot it was like Christmas). It's amazing how we managed to eat, everyone around our small table! On August 15th, since it's holiday, Xavier didn't have to work. In the morning we stayed home to rest a little bit, then after lunch we went to my parents's where we met the former anziano Losee and a part of the Polelli family (Martina was on a holiday with her boyfriend and Samson is on a mission). Chad Losee was in Italy for work so he came also to visit us. When it wasn't so hot anymore we went for a walk all together and we went to a park, (once we got to the park Chad had to leave..). It was a nice day. I was so worried about their arrival, and everything, but the first day went pretty well. On Sunday we all went to church, I was with Megan in the YW class (Denise came in that class as well). In the afternoon we didn't do something particular, they all slept and then we played a little with Skip-Bo, which has become the game of the summer! They kept played with it! The week after Xavier and I still had to work (I only worked from 6 to 10 am) and it was very difficult... On Monday after I finished working we had to go to the street market in Forlì .. We left with two cars, Megan was with me and Elodie, the others were behind us and somehow they got lost, so we had to go back home and wait for them. Later, before got home from work, his parents got mad because Elodie didn't want to stay with them but just with the kids (Megan, Emilie and Noé)... They were even about to leave to go home but once Xavier came home, after talkking to them, they changed their mind. Talking about the rest of the week: on Tuesday we went to Ravenna to visit some churches and their mosaic. We walked a lot and in the hottest hours of the day, because of it Megan didn't feel well the next day . It must be said that the days they were here, were the hottest and humid days of the entire summer, really too hot! On Thursday, once Xavier got home from work, we went to the river with my parents. It was so good to be in the water! I would never came out of the water! I was almost drowned in the river by Ariele =p Even with them, finally, we didn't do much, mainly because of the heat. At the beginning they had to leave after 2 weeks but finally they left after one week and a half, that is, Wednesday, August 26th and they went to visit Tuscany and then they went to Cannes. On Saturday we stayed home all day watching television and trying to survive to the heat, and Denise ironed everything for me! On Sunday, after the meetings we took lots of pictures together and on Monday we spent the day in San Marino. Luckily it was not that hot and there was some wind. In San Marino, we ate at the restaurant, we had a beautiful day and in the evening Pascal cook the dinner with the barbecue: soooo good! My parents also came and brought some ice cream. We ate outside in our garden. The next day we rested and on Wednesday, very early in the morning they left. Xavier also left early to go to a job interview for Lidl in Verona. It was weird, after all those days, to finally have an empty house, only Elodie and me! I had a lot to clean and to tidy up, but after all it was interesting to have them here. I could get to know better Megan, she's so cool and Emilie as well. Who knows when we'll meet again...!

Tanti auguri a me!! *** Happy birthday to me!!

Oggi è il mio complaenno!!!!!!!! Come sto diventando vecchia... 27 anni... mamma mia... come dice Xavier tra 3 anni ho 30 anni...!!

E' stata una giornata normale, tutti dovevano lavorare o sono andati via, così non ho potuto fare nessuna festa, nel pomeriggio è passata Gertrude con la sua famiglia a farmi gli auguri, che gentili!!! Graaazie!!! Poi verso sera quando Xavier è uscito da lavorare, abbiamo lasciato Elodie dai miei, e io e Xavier siamo andati a mangiare al ristorante cinese. Mooolto buono! Mi sono mangiata anche la nutella fritta che non è altro che una specie di crepe. Dopo siamo andati a prendere Elodie, mia mamma aveva fatto una torta così ho festeggiato anche un pochino con loro. Ariele non c'era perchè è andato alla conferenza di capodanno ma mi aveva preparato un bel regalo e anche il bigliettino con una mia foto troppo buffa (che nessuno vedrà mai!)! Arielino, Arielino! E' sempre lo stesso. All'inizio ero un po' triste perchè volevo fare qualcosa di speciale per il mio compleanno, ma tutte le persone più importanti per me dovevano lavorare tutto il pomeriggio/sera (io mi sono presa questa settimana di ferie) ma alla fine è stata una bella giornata lo stesso!! Grazie, grazie a tutti quelli che si sono ricordati di me e del mio compleanno e mi hanno fatto gli auguri o che magari mi hanno semplicemente pensata!!!!!!!

Today is my birthday!!!!!!!! I'm getting so old... 27 years old... mamma mia... as Xavier says: in 3 years I'll be 30...!!

Today it was a normal day, everyone had to work or were gone so I didn't organize a party; Gertrude and her family came to visit me for a little bit in the afternoon to wish me happy birthday, sooo nice!! Thank you!!!! Later in the evening, when Xavier was off from work, we took Elodie at my parent's home and we went eating at the chinese restaurant. Really very goood! I ate fried nutella, it's just a sort of crepe. After that we went to my parent's home, my mom made a cake so we spent sometime together. Ariele wasn't there, he went to the YSA New Year conference, but he got me a nice present and a birthday home made card with a too funny picture of me (that nobody will ever see!)! Arielino, Arielino! He's always the same. At the beginning I was kinda sad because I wanted to do something special for my birthday but all the ones I love had to work (I took this week off from work) but finally I had a good day anyway!! Thanks thanks to all who remembered me and of my birthday and sent their wishes or that just thought about me!!!!!!!!!!!

Estate con Jb *** Summer with Jb

Non ho ancora finito di parlare di quest'estate e ormai siamo nell'anno nuovo! Sono messa proprio male =p Ma ok vado avanti perchè ci tengo. Allora sempre quest'estate (strano parlare di estate e ripensare al gran caldo, quando adesso fa così freddo!!) è venuto a trovarmi il mio amico Jean-Baptiste Quint. Eravamo insieme al MTC, nella stessa classe per 2 mesi! Lui è francese e ha servito la sua missione a Washington DC north. Non l'avevo più visto dalla missione però ci siamo tenuti in contatto e quest'anno ha deciso di venire qua per circa due settimane. E' arrivato domenica 19 luglio nel pomeriggio. E' rimasto a dormire a casa nostra, nella camera che sarà di Elodie. La prima settimana che era qui Xavier era in ferie così nei primi giorni abbiamo potuto fare qualcosa. Infatti lunedì 20 luglio siamo andati a San Marino. E' stata una bella giornata, dopo siamo andati a fare un giro al centro commerciale di San Marino perchè dovevo cercare un regalo per mio nonno e Jb doveva comprare alcune cose. Dopo siamo andati un pochino da mio nonno a fargli gli auguri e poi a mangiare un gelato, così anche Jb ha potuto assaggiare il VERO gelato!!!! Il giorno dopo non abbiamo fatto niente di particolare, mentre mercoledì 22 luglio, come avevo già detto prima, siamo andati tutti a Milano perchè dovevo firmare il mio contratto di lavoro. Non abbiamo neanche avuto modo di visitare un po' Milano, così praticamente non abbiamo fatto niente di che. Il giovedì era il mio primo giorno di lavoro. Jb ha aiutato Xavier a tenere Elodie e poi la sera siamo andati a Rimini; Xavier aveva una riunione così nel frattempo noi 3 (Jb, Elodie e io) siamo andati a fare un giro al centro commerciale Le Befane e abbiamo preso una pizza =) Il sabato visto che non lavoravo siamo andati al fiume, ma ci siamo rimasti davvero poco perchè siamo partiti tardi e poi dovevamo andare al battesimo di Desireè e Vanessa. Comunque abbiamo fatto un po' il bagno (a Elodie è piaciuto un sacco!) e abbiamo fatto pranzo lì. La domenica siamo stati dai miei anche a pranzo. In generale non abbiamo fatto tanto, ogni momento "libero" che c'era giocavamo a Skip-bo e vincevo quasi sempre io!!! Oppure a UNO! Abbiamo fatto un giro a Forlimpopoli (come se fosse una gran città) =p e il sabato dopo siamo andati di nuovo al fiume, ma questa volta Xavier doveva lavorare e siamo andati con i miei. E' stato divertente, anche perchè ci siamo stati di più e sono stata un sacco nell'acqua!! Si stava così bene, pensando al gran caldo che faceva!! Purtroppo lunedì 2 agosto è arrivato e Jb è tornato a casa. Io quel giornoho fatto un orario diverso così ho potuto accompagnarlo all'aereoporto di Bologna e salutarlo insieme a Elodie (si è subito abituata a lui! Ancora adesso a volte lo cerca, lo chiama "IB", troppo bellina). E' stato divertente averlo a casa nostra e divertirci tutti insieme! E' stato bello anche ricordare i tempi dell'MTC e quindi della missione... E' bello avere amici così, su cui si può contare, si può parlare e con cui ci si può divertire! Grazie JB per la tua amicizia!! =)

I havn't finished talking about this summer yet and now it's almost the new year! I'm really bad =p But ok I keep writing because it's important to me. So, this summer (it's weird to talk about and think again of the heat, while it's so cold now!) my friend Jean-Baptiste Quint came over to our home. We were in the same class at the MTC, for 2 months! He is French and he served his mission in Washington DC north. I haven't seen him since the mission but we kept in touch and this year he decided to come here for about two weeks. He came on Sunday, July 19th in the afternoon, he stayed in our home and slept in Elodie future bedroom. His first week here, Xavier was on vacation so at the beginning of the week we were able to do something. On Monday, July 20th we went to San Marino. We had a very nice day, we went also to the mall in San Marino, because I had to find a gift for my grandpa and Jb had to buy some suff he needed. Later we went to visit my grandpa for a little bit since it was his birthday and then we went to eat a gelato, so Jb could taste the REAL gelato!! The next day we did nothing special, but on Wednesday July 22nd, as I said before, we all went to Milano because I had to sign my contract for my job. We didn't even have time to visit Milano, so basically we did nothing there. On Thursday it was my first day of work. Jb helped Xavier playing with Elodie and then at night we went to Rimini: Xavier had a church meeting so in the meantime the 3 of us (Jb, Elodie and I) went to the shopping center Le Befane and we had a pizza =) I don't work on Saturday, so we went to the river, but we were there not for to long because we went there late and then we had to go to Desiree and Vanessa's baptisms. However we went in the water for a little bit (Elodie loved it!) and we had lunch there too. On Sunday we went to my parent's home for lunch. In general, we haven't done much, every "free" time we had we played at Skip-Bo and I won almost all the time! Or we played UNO! We visited Forlimpopoli (it's not that big..) =p On his last Saturday here we went back to the river, but this time, Xavier had to work and we went with my parents. It was really fun, also because we coud stay there longer and I could be in the water a lot too! It was so good to be there, thinking of the great heat we had in those days! Unfortunately, Monday, August 2nd arrived and Jb had to go back home. That day I worked with a different schedule so I could take him to the airport in Bologna and tell him goodbye with Elodie (she got along with him very well! She even look for him sometime now, she calls him "IB", so cute!). It has been fun having him at our home and having fun together! It was great also to remember the time at the MTC and then the mission... It's so great to have friends like that, someone you can count on, someone you can talk to and with whom you can have fun! JB thanks for your friendship! =)

Durante quest'estate... *** During this summer...

... Sono successe tante cose (come avevo già detto). Così attraverso queste foto racconterò alcune di queste cose. Le foto non sono in ordine cronologico, perciò spero che non crei troppa confusione. Come al solito non sarà un post molto corto, ma ormai è normale che non lo sia! =)


... Many things happened during the summer (as I already said). So, through these pictures I'd like to talk a little of some of these things. Pictures are not in a chronological order, I hope it's not too confusing. As usual this won't be a very short post, but that's normal! =)

Quest'estate c'è stato il battesimo di Desireè e Vanessa. Tutto è iniziato a giugno quando i missionari (anziano Deppe e Brawdy) ci hanno chiesto (Xavier e me) di andare con loro da una famiglia a cui avevano appena iniziato ad insegnare. Era un lunedì, così abbiamo fatto una serata familiare insieme. Poi siamo andati anche il lunedì dopo e altre volte e loro hanno iniziato a venire in chiesa dalle 9:00, vestiti bene e tutto, sembravano membri della Chiesa!! Sono in cinque: Gertrude è la mamma che ha 4 figli: Desireè di 14 anni, Vanessa di 9, Junior di quasi 2 e Giada di 5-6 mesi. Io ero contenta anche perchè Desireè è una giovane donna, poi conoscendola meglio al campeggio delle giovani donne ho potuto apprezzarla e conoscerla meglio. E' una ragazza dolce e le voglio tanto bene! Sono stata davvero contenta che abbia deciso di battezzarsi. Prima del campeggio era quella meno interessata, ma al campeggio ho potuto vedere un cambiamento in lei, ed è stato bellissimo. Infatti solo una settimana dopo si è battezzata, ancora prima di sua mamma! Al battesimo sono venute anche le giovani donne di Rimini, qualche giovane uomo e naturalmente Sabrina, la mia consigliera. Ci siamo molto affezionate a Desireè. E' davvero incredibile come il vangelo di Gesù Cristo cambi le persone e le renda ancora migliori. Questo rafforza la mia testimonianza della verità di questo Vangelo e di questa Chiesa.


This summer there were Desireè and Vanessa's baptisms. It all started in June when the missionaries (Anziano Deppe and Browdy) asked us (Xavier and me) to go with them to visit a family they just began to teach to. It was on a Monday, so we had a family home evening together. Then we went even on the next Monday and other times too; they started to come to church at 9:00, well dressed and everything, they seemed to be already members of the Church! They are five: Gertrude is the mother who has 4 children: Desireè 14 years old, Vanessa 9 years old, Junior almost 2 and Giada 5-6 months old. I was happy also because Desireèis a young woman, I got the chance to know her better at girls camp and appreciate her even more. She's a sweet girl and I love you her much! I was so happy she decided to be baptized. Before camp she was the least interested in her family, but at girls camp I could see a change in her, and it was amazing. In fact, only a week after it she got baptized, even before her mom! The young women from Rimini some young men, and of course Sabrina, my counselor came at the baptism.. Sabrina and I love Desireè a lot. It's really amazing how the gospel of Jesus Christ changes people and make them even better. This experience strengthened my testimony of the truth of the Gospel and of the Church.

Matrimonio di Joseph e Krista: lui viene dalla Nigeria e fa parte del mio Ramo (Forlì) e lei invece è Canadese. Sembrano così opposti ma sono tanto carini!! Lei è venuta per circa un mese, nel quale sabato 19 settembre si è sposata, hanno poi fatto il suggellamento al tempio Svizzero e poi lei è tornata in Canada in attesa che lui abbia i documenti necessari per raggiungerla. Quanta pazienza!!! Il matrimonio è stato molto semplice; io ho prima tradotto l'atto di matrimonio, ho fatto da interprete per Krista (non parla italiano ed è stato mio babbo a sposarli) durante la cerimonia e poi ero anche la testimone di lei. Purtroppo nessuno della famiglia di lei è venuto... Era la prima volta che facevo da testimone! Gli sposi si sono fatti attendere un bel po', peggio del mio matrimonio =p Ma i membri di Forlì (i pochi ma buoni) hanno contribuito molto per la riuscita del matrimonio, almeno loro sembravano proprio felici!!! Congratulazioni Joseph e Krista!!!!! Siete proprio una bella coppia e vi voglio bene!!!!!!!!!!

Joseph & Krista's wedding: he is from Nigeria and he belongs to my Branch (Forlì); instead she is Canadian. They seem so differentbut they are sooo cute! She came here for about a month, and they got married on Saturday, September 19th, later they got sealed in the Swiss Temple and then she went back to Canada waiting for him to have all documents needed to go there as well. That's hard! The wedding was very simple; I first translated their marriage certificate into English, I interpreted for Krista (she doesn't speak Italian and my dad celebrated the marriage) during the ceremony and I was also her witness. Unfortunately none of her family came ... It was the first time fot me to be a witness in a wedding! They made us wait a little while before their arrival, worse than my wedding =p But Forlì members (the few but good) helped a lot for the success of the wedding, at least they (Joseph & Krista) seemed so happy! Congratulations Joseph and Krista!!!!! You are a great couple and I love you!!!!!!!!!!

Conferenza del Distretto di Rimini: sabato 26 e domenica 27 settembre c'è stata la conferenza del nostro distretto. E' stata una conferenza ancora più speciale: abbiamo avuto il privilegio di avere l'anziano Patrick Kearon,Settanta di Area. Ariele l'aveva conosciuto durante la missione e ha tradotto durante la sessione del sacerdozio del sabato, a me è stato chiesto di interpretare durante la sessione generale del sabato. Dire che ero agitata è dire poco... Ma l'anziano mi ha subito tranquillizzata e con il suo modo di fare calmo, gentile e socievole, mi ha calmata molto. Nella prima parte dovevo interpretare per lui, quindi dall'italiano all'inglese (secondo me la parte più difficile) e poi durante il suo discorso il contrario. Per interpretare per lui in inglese, io avevo un piccolo microfono e lui usando delle cuffie sentiva la mia traduzione. Devo dire che Ariele mi ha aiutato molto, trovandomi le Scritture o a volte suggerendomi delle parole, e oltre al suo aiuto ho sentito anche quello dello Signore. Alla fine mi dispiaceva aver già finito! E mi sarebbe piaciuto fare anche la domenica, ma per il giorno dopo è venuta una sorella da Modena che a mia volta ho aiutato molto durante l'interpretazione dall'italiano all'inglese. Dopo tanto tempo ho cantato di nuovo nel coro (avevo partecipato alle prove) e c'è stato anche il coro dei missionari ritornati del distretto. Xavier è riuscito ad avere la domenica libera così ha cantanto anche lui. Abbiamo tutti indossato la nostra targhetta: è stato bellissimo sia indossare di nuovo la targhetta (che poi non mi sarei più tolta) sia vedere tutti gli altri ex missionari di ogni età; sembravamo proprio come "un'armata" forti e coraggiosi, non a caso abbiamo cantato: "Noi gioventù di Sion"!

Ero talmente presa dall'interpretare, sia il sabato che la domenica, che non ricordo esattamente ciò che è stato detto, solo una cosa mi è rimasta impressa: "siate felici". Ma quello che non posso dimenticare è la gran pace e serenità provata ascoltando i dirigenti del Distretto, della missione e del Settanta di Area. Sono grata di poter far parte di questa Chiesa e di sapere che il Signore la sta guidando tramite uomini scelti direttamente da Lui.

Rimini District Conference: On Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of September we had our district conference. It was even more special because we had the privilege of having elder Patrick Kearon, Area Seventy. Ariele met him before, during his mission in England; Ariele translated the priesthood session on Saturday, and I was asked to interpret for the general session on Saturday. Saying I was nervous it's not enough... But elder Kearon reassured me and with his calm, gentle and encouraging manner, he calmed me down a lot. In the first part of the session I had to interpret to him, from Italian into English (in my opinion this was the hardest part) and then during his talk I had to do the opposite. To interpret to him into English, I used a small microphone and he had headphone which allowed him to listen to my translation. I must say that Ariele helped me a lot, finding Scriptures or sometimes suggesting me some words, and in addition to his help I also felt the Lord's. Finally I was sad it was already over! And I would have loved to interpret for the Sunday morning session, but for that one came a sister from Modena, and I helped her a lot in interpreting into English.

After a long time I sang in the district choir again (I also went to practice); there was also the returned district missionaries choir. Xavier was able to have that Sunday off so he sang in the choir too. We all wore our nametags: it was great to wear it again (I didn't want to take it off anymore) and to see all the other former missionaries of every age; we were like an "army" strong and courageous, not by chance we sang, "As Zion's Youth in these Latter Days"!
I was so busy with the interpretation, both on Saturday and on Sunday, I can not remember exactly what was said during conference, but something impressed me: "Be happy". What I can not forget is the great peace and happiness I felt listening to District and Mission leaders, and the Area Seventy. I am grateful to be part of this Church and to know that the Lord is guiding it by chosen men selected directly by Him.

Sabato 8 agosto oltre ad essere il nostro terzo anniversario di matrimonio al tempio, si è battezzata Gertrude ed è stata fatta una cerimonia per il matrimonio di Tamara e Filippo Purpari... Purtroppo non sono riuscita ad arrivare in tempo per il battesimo, ma sono tanto contenta che si sia battezzata! Domenica 9 agosto è venuta in chiesa una famiglia di Milano che Xavier ha conosciuto in missione, la famiglia Kone. Ci eravamo messi d'accordo in precedenza perchè venissero a mangiare a casa nostra. Si trovavano in zona perchè sono stati in vacanza al mare per circa un mese, dalle parti di Rimini. Per pranzo abbiamo fatto tipo panini e cose veloci in modo che anche i bimbi non avessero problemi a mangiare. Loro hanno due femmine e un maschio. Elodie si è subito trovata bene con le altre due bimbe e hanno giocato insieme mettendo sotto sopra la camera, ma poi hanno anche messo a posto! Elodie all'inizo fa la timida e osserva, poi si butta e chi la ferma più! Nel pomeriggio sono andati via. Per Xavier è stato bello rivederli visto che erano una delle sue famiglie preferite in missione e per me è stato bello conoscerli. La loro figlia più grande si chiama Erin, Xavier continua a insistere nel voler chiamare un'altra figlia che potremmo avere, con lo stesso nome, ma a me non piace!! E poi magari avremo solo maschi!!! =)

On Saturday, August 8th in addition to being our third temple wedding anniversary, Gertrude got baptized and we had a ceremony for Tamara and Filippo Purpari's wedding... Unfortunately I didn't make it in time for the baptism, but I am so glad that she got baptized! On Sunday, August 9th a family from Milano came in our branch: Xavier met them in his mission, the Kone family. They came to our house for lunch. They came here to visit because they were on holiday at the beach near Rimini for about a month. For lunch we made some sandwiches and other "fast" things to eat so that the children had no problems eating. They have two daughters and a son. Elodie immediately got along very well with the other two girls, they played together and did a big mess in Elodie's bedroom, but then they also tidy it up! Elodie at the beginning is shy and observe everything but then it's hard to stop her! In the afternoon they left. Xavier was happy to see them since they are one of his favorite family from his mission and for me it was nice to get to know them. Their oldest daughter name is Erin, Xavier keeps saying that he wants to name another possible daughter with that name, but I don't like it at all! And maybe we will have only boys! =)

Il 5 agosto invece è stato il nostro già terzo anniversario di matrimonio... il tempo vola, mamma mia!! Xavier ha dovuto lavorare tutto il giorno e io pure, ma ho avuto il tempo di preparare una torta che poi abbiamo mangiato insieme. Elodie era contenta della torta! E pensare che tre anni fa non ce la immaginavamo neanche Elodie.. E adesso è come se ci fosse sempre stata e non ne potremmo fare a meno. Sono stati 3 anni molto pieni, ma belli e sono contenta di averli condivisi con una persona che amo tanto!! Sicuramente anche i prossimi saranno indimenticabili!! Grazie Xavier per la tua pazienza e il tuo amore!!!!!!!!

On August 5th, it was already our third wedding anniversary... time flies, mamma mia! Xavier had to work all day and I had too, but I had time to prepare a cake and then we ate it together. Elodie was very happy about the cake! It's so weird... only 3 years ago we could not even imagine Elodie... And now it is as if she has always been here, we can't imagine life without her. These 3 years were very full of happenings, but beautiful years and I'm glad I shared them with someone I love so much! Surely even the next years will be unforgettable! Xavier thanks for your patience and your love!!!!!!!!


E l'11 agosto è arrivato e quindi anche il compleanno di mia mamma!! Wow 613 anni!! Li porta bene, vero? E per un'età così biblica bisognava proprio festeggiare. Così la sera siamo andati in negozio e poi a casa dei miei dove abbiamo passato un pochino di tempo insieme mangiando la torta fatta dalla Eddis. Noi le abbiamo regalato un quadretto dove mettere le foto molto originale e un campanello per il negozio che quando arrivano i clienti se non trovano nessuno, suonano (difficile da spiegare e capire senza vederlo!). Una serata tranquilla ma importante! Ti voglio tanto bene mamma, e non potrò mai ringraziarti abbastanza per quello che fai per me!

And so August 11th arrived and therefore my mom's birthday!! Wow, 613 years old! She still look young, eh? So.. for a biblical age like this we had to celebrate. In the evening we went to my parent's shoes repair shop and then at their house where we spent a little time together eating the cake made by Eddis. We got my mom a very original frame to put in wall and a kind of bell she can use at their shop so when people come in and noone is there, they can "ring" this little bell..(it's hard to explain it and understand without seeing it!). A normal evening but very important at the same time! I love you so much mom, and I can never thank you enough for all you do for me!


Ci sono stati diversi "addii" o "arrivederci" questa estate: Il primo è stato quello di Renata. Renata viene dall'Albania ed è stata qui a Forlì/Cesena per circa un anno per fare un master per l'università. E' qualche mese più piccola di me e piccolina come me. Le abbiamo fatto una festa per salutarla a casa della famiglia Moss a Cesena il 19 giugno. Era una festa a sorpresa ed è riuscita bene! Poi tutti quelli che non l'hanno potuta salutare quel giorno l'hanno salutata la domenica e abbiamo fatto anche una foto tutti insieme. Mi è dispiaciuto che dovesse tornare a casa, ma sono contenta sia stata nel mio ramo e di averla conosciuta, perchè è molto simpatica!!

There have been several "farewell" or "goodbye" during the summer: Renata was the first one we said goodbye to. Renata is from Albania and she lived here in Forlì/Cesna for about a year to take a master degree. She's a few months younger than me and she's short like me. We had a farewell party for her at the Moss' home in Cesena on June 19th. It was a surprise party and it turned out well! Later, all those who weren't able to say goodbye to her that day, could do it on the following Sunday we took a picture all together. I was sad she had to go home, but I'm glad she was in my branch and that I got to know her because she's very nice!

Poi anziano Deppe ha finito la missione, non è rimasto molto a Forlì, ma abbiamo avuto modo di conoscerlo abbastanza bene e di lavorare con lui e il suo collega. L'altro anziano ad andare via era anziano Mathews. Come famiglia ci siamo molto affezionati a lui, è troppo forte! E soprattutto Elodie: all'inizio non lo guardava neanche, poi lui dandole dei cioccolatini l'ha "conquistata". Proprio un bravo missionario, Xavier dice che anz. Mathews gli ricorda tanto come era lui in missione: crazy! Speravamo che rimanesse per quando veniva la famiglia di Xavier, ma purtroppo è stato trasferito prima, ci è venuto a salutare proprio il martedì sera prima che io partissi per il campeggio delle Giovani Donne. Io ero super agitata per il campeggio e non c'ero proprio con la testa =p C'era anche mia cugina. Abbiamo mangiato tutti insieme la pizza e dopo qualche foto l'abbiamo salutato. E' sempre bello avere dei missionari così e stringere questo genere di amicizie!

Ciao Anziano Deppe!

Then anziano Deppe finished is mission, he was in Forlì for a short time period, but we've got to know him well enough and got to work with him and his companion. The other anziano who left was Anziano Mathews. As a family we became very good friend with him, he is so cool! Espiacially Elodie: at the beginning she wouldn't een look at him, but since he gave her some chocolate he's her favorite!! He's really a good missionary, Xavier says anziano Mathews reminds him so much himself on his mission: Crazy! We hoped he could be her to meet Xavier's family, but unfortunately he was transferred earlier, he came to sy goodbye the Tuesday night before I left for young women camp. I was super stressed about girls camp I wasn't there with my mind! (meaning I was crazier than usual)=p My cousin was there as well. We ate pizza all together and after taking some pictures we said "Ciao". It's always nice to have missionaries like that and create this kind of strong friendship.

Abbiamo comprato il barbecue e l'abbiamo usato qualche volta quest'estate nel piccolo giardino dietro casa nostra. L'abbiamo inaugurato con i missionari (tra cui l'anziano Mathews) il 24 giugno, e Xavier si è divertito a cucinare, all'inizio però non si riusciva ad accendere il fuoco, ma alla fine abbiamo mangiato bene. =)

We bought a barbecue and we used it a few times this summer in our little garden in the back of our home. We cooked on it for the first time when the missionaries came over for lunch (elder Mathews was one of those) on June the 24th. Xavier had funcooking; at the beginning he couldn't light the fire but finally we ate very well. =)
